Your journey at a glance:
📍 Day 1 – Arrive in Inverness
Begin the adventure in the capital of the Highlands, with time to explore the city, stroll beside the River Ness or simply settle in before the journey ahead.
📍 Day 2 – Inverness to Brora | 57 miles
Discover the craftsmanship behind one of Scotland’s famous Highland malts during a Glenmorangie Distillery tour, then explore the fairytale turrets, gardens and coastal setting of Dunrobin Castle.
📍 Day 3 – Brora to Thurso | 53 miles
Continue towards mainland Britain’s far north and visit the restored John O’Groats Mill. Suggested stops include the dramatic Whaligoe Steps and John O’Groats Brewery.
📍 Day 4 – Thurso to Tongue | 44 miles
Explore the Castle of Mey, the former Caithness home of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, before following the wild northern coastline towards Tongue.
📍 Day 5 – Tongue to Kylesku | 65 miles
Discover white-sand beaches, local crafts and incredible natural scenery, with suggested visits to Balnakeil Craft Village, the beaches around Durness and Smoo Cave.
📍 Day 6 – Kylesku to Ullapool | 33 miles
Taste your way around the Highlands on an included Ullapool Food Tour, featuring locally connected produce and drinks, before discovering the town’s maritime heritage and Gaelic culture at Ullapool Museum.
📍 Day 7 – Ullapool to Plockton | 80 miles
Explore the exotic plants and spectacular landscapes of Inverewe Garden, then look beneath the waves during a fascinating glass-bottom boat trip before continuing towards Plockton.
📍 Day 8 – Plockton to Inverness | 75 miles
Cross the stone bridge to explore the iconic Eilean Donan Castle, then take to the water for a scenic Loch Ness cruise—keeping a careful watch for one legendary resident along the way!
📍 Day 9 – One final Highland adventure
Visit the immersive Inverness Castle Experience, where exhibitions and storytelling bring the history, landscapes, legends and people of the Highlands to life, before beginning the journey home.
