Kent is full of so many "insta worthy" spots! Be that fields of lavender, poppies or bluebells, castles, ruins, cliff tops, ancient woodlands, neolithic sites.... the list is endless.

I have noticed a huge uptake in people wanting to see places they've found on Instagram. Anyone who came to the Bluebell walk this year will remember the car park, full of people that had been "influenced" to go and see the beautiful woodland displays.

Here are a few of my favourite spots. As with any popular place, go early or late and a weekday if possible for the best uninterrupted views. My absolute favourite spots are tiny hamlets with ancient churches and 100 year old cottages and wisteria climbing up the front.

What are your favourites in Kent?

Back on the North Downs Way! 🌰 🥾

We headed to Hawkinge for a weekday 5 mile walk along the coastline, looking over the euro tunnel 🚆 and then back into the countryside.

Two trigs were booped along the way 🔺, one of which is a special circular trig!!

It was great to be back walking in Kent and catching up with the group after our trip to Wales.

Next Saturday we are heading to Bluebell Hill, situated between Rochester and Maidstone 🧭

We started our 8-mile group walk in the gorgeous village of Wye and followed the Stour Valley Path up into the hills, linking with the North Downs Way and straight into a total wildflower heaven! , every field felt like a photographer’s dream 🌸📸

Absolute highlight of the walk was seeing a slow worm 🪱, which I haven't seen for nearly 2 years!!!

As the clouds lifted, we were treated to clear blue skies and sweeping views across the Kent Downs National Landscape – absolutely worth the climb! We took in the dramatic Devil’s Kneading Trough (love a good folklore name!) and the striking Wye Chalk Crown carved into the hillside 👑

Definitely one for the "walk it again soon" list! 🥾

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿⛰️ Snowdon Yr Wyddfa

19 incredible women from our women's wellness walking group in Kent took on our first ever travel adventure — climbing the highest mountain in Wales, Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) - 1,085m (3,560ft). It was a emotional, beautiful and unforgettable experience 🏔️💚

For some, it was their very first mountain — something they never thought they could do. Others climbed for someone they’d lost, someone they loved, or for their own healing. Some came for personal growth, some for physical or mental health, and others simply to prove to themselves that they could. 🌟

The photos I've shared don't focus on the amazing scenery, but on the amazing women who joined us

I want to say this loud and clear, even if you didn't touch that trig your journey was still as powerful. You showed up and still took in the wonders of the mountains. 17 of the group summited and there were hugs and tears and applause.

To our two amazing Mountain Leaders, Emily and Nicjy— thank you. It was really important to me to have an all female team. Personally I learnt so much from you and advice and confidence I will take forward with our group.
Your calm, kind, expert leadership made this possible. You held the space so beautifully for every single woman on that mountain, and we felt safe and empowered every step of the way. 🥾💪

What touches me most is that many of these women didn’t even know each other before this trip. They took a leap of faith — in me, in each other, and in themselves. And I couldn’t be more grateful.

When you climb a mountain, oftentimes you climb many invisible ones, too. ⛰️✨

And yes… we’re already planning our next one: Scafell Pike 2026 — England’s highest peak — and I cannot wait to do it!!

What do you wish you'd know before you started?

My biggest mistake was thinking I wasn't doing enough. Wasn't on a summit, didn't have the newest kit etc.

It takes so much time to figure out what parts of the outdoors you love! And kit..... I could write about kit for hours. My advice now to people starting out is to look for high quality brands second hand. This, in my experience has been better long term than cheaper options brand new.

But we all have to start somewhere, figuring out routes, maps, weather, layering, food etc and i have learnt from my mistakes along the way!

The best thing is to reach out to community members and ask advice.
