📢 Following our post regarding the fire at our premises, we would like to provide a further update.

First, thank you to everyone who reached out with messages of support. The local community's response has been greatly appreciated by the whole team.

🚌 Fleet & Booking Information
We unfortunately lost a minibus and a large coach in the blaze, as part of our recovery, we are reviewing our upcoming schedule.

Replacement Vehicle: We have already purchased a replacement large coach to ensure our capacity returns to normal as quickly as possible.

Existing Bookings: It is our full intention for all private bookings to stand. We are making every effort to ensure that our customers' travel plans remain unaffected.

Communication: Should there be any necessary changes to a specific booking, we will contact the lead passenger directly with as much notice as possible.

If you have an upcoming booking and have not heard from us, please assume your transport is proceeding as scheduled.

Thank you for your continued patience as we work through the aftermath of the fire.

📢 An Important Update - We have some difficult news to share. Earlier today, a serious fire broke out at our premises. No one was injured, most importantly.

All scheduled services will run as normal tomorrow. Your journeys are our priority and we are doing everything we can to ensure your travel is unaffected.

We'd like to thank the emergency services for their swift response, and to our neighbours, friends, and the wider community for the support and kind messages we've received today. Thank you also to our staff, who have gone above and beyond throughout.

We're working through the aftermath, so please bear with us if responses to enquiries are slightly delayed. We'll get back to everyone as soon as we can and appreciate your patience.

A huge part of our summer business involves welcoming visitors from across the globe. This doesn't just keep our wheels turning - it brings a massive boost to the Highland economy, supporting local businesses, shops, and hospitality.

To help make the 2026 season a success, we are helping our partners at European Cruise Service UK find enthusiastic locals to join their team at the Port of Invergordon.

🌍 They are looking for:

1. Interpreters (Language Speakers)
Fluent speakers of German, French, Italian, or Spanish. You’ll work alongside English speaking guides on our coaches to ensure our international guests don't miss a single detail of our local history.

2. Tour Escorts (English Speaking)
Perfect for those who love meeting people! You’ll help with tours like "Inverness On Your Own"-counting heads, handing out maps, and acting as a back-marker for walking tours. No second language is required for this role.

🚌 Travel for just £2 with Macleod’s Coaches!
We are thrilled to announce that Macleod’s Coaches is officially taking part in the Scottish Government’s £2 Bus Fare Cap Pilot, starting today, Monday 23rd March.

Whether you’re commuting to work, headed to the shops, or exploring the beautiful Highlands, there’s never been a better time to leave the car at home and hop on the bus.

📍 How it works:
The Cap: Single adult and child fares for any journey entirely within the Highland region will cost no more than £2.

Lower Fares: If your journey already costs less than £2, it stays at that lower price!

No Fuss: You don't need to apply. Just board the bus, pay your fare, and enjoy the saving.

Duration: This pilot is scheduled to run for the next 12 months.

💳 Concessionary Travel:
If you have a National Entitlement Card (Over 60s or Under 22s), nothing changes - you can continue to travel for FREE as usual.

Why the change?
This £10 million investment from the Scottish Government and Transport Scotland aims to make bus travel more affordable, simpler to understand, and better for the environment. We are proud to partner with HiTrans to support our local community with these lower costs.

From a quick hop down the road to a longer trip across the region, your fare is capped. Let’s get the Highlands moving!

We recently had the pleasure of helping out a group with a last minute request here in the Highlands. There is nothing we love more than turning a stressful situation into a smooth, professional, and "funny" journey. 🚌✨

These guys really stepped up with a last minute request after being let down else where. They were friendly in all interactions on the phone and went out of their way to accommodate our request. The driver was friendly and funny, the bus was new and clean. Very professional service, and at a competitive rate to other bus providers in the Highlands. Would absolutely recommend to book them.

❄️ Back on the Road!
We want to say a massive thank you to all our passengers for your patience and understanding over the last week.

The heavy snow made some of our routes impassable, and your safety is always our number one priority. We know how much of a disruption this causes to your daily routines, and we appreciate you bearing with us.

🚌Our coaches are back out on the road again and running our regular routes.

While we hope the worst of the weather is behind us, winter can be unpredictable. If there are any further changes to our timetables due to inclement weather, our page will have the most up to date information.📱

⚠️ IMPORTANT SERVICE UPDATE ⚠️

906 Lairg to Helmsdale Service: This service will operate normally, except for Christmas Day (25/12), Boxing Day (26/12), New Year's Day (1/1), and 2nd January (2/1).

901 Lairg to Dornoch service (Termtime only): This service will stop running on 23/12. There will be no services between 24/12 and 6/1. The 901 will resume when the new school term begins on 7/1.
