Alnwick Castle is a 20 minute drive from Copper Beech Cottages... fans of the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry will recognise the castle as the set of Hogwarts from the Harry potter films!

Why not have a trip to try your skills at broomstick school, walk the corridors that Ron, Hermione or even Professor Dumbledore frequented or try to spot the golden snitch?!

Alnwick is also home to Bowrig Hepple Black... a shop solely dedicated to all things Harry Potter. Choose some merchandise for the house you belong too.... will it be Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin?!

Linhope Spout has been named one of the top 5 wild swimming spots in the country!

This natural beauty spot is located in Ingram Valley- approximately 35-40 minutes drive from Copper Beech Cottages.

Ingram Valley is a lovely place to visit for the day during warmer weather- take a picnic, kick off your shoes and paddle in the river, build damns, play rounders or simply lie back and enjoy the sun!

There are public toilets and a cafe in the valley and often an ice cream van will park up in warmer weather (weekends and school holidays).

Please note- dogs must be kept on leads as the valley is home to sheep that wander at their pleasure. No BBQs are permitted due to the risk of wild fires.

Now we've passed the Summer holidays, we're starting to plan forward to the festive season!

We have availability for stays in Beech Cottage, Fairway View and Copper Cottage which include Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing day.
We also have breaks between Christmas and New Year and breaks for New Year itself.

Our cottages are dog friendly, so you can bring all of the family.

Rothbury village is a beautiful location to celebrate with family- magically lit with fairy lights and boasting an enormous Christmas tree and nativity scene in the centre of the village.
The shops, restaurants and pubs put on a fantastic effort with decorations in the lead up to Christmas.
Further afield, the market towns of Alnwick and Morpeth are full of festive cheer!
The Alnwick Gardens host visits with Santa and a Christmas Lights trail and are adjoined to Lilidorei, the the largest play structure in the world which has a Christmas village theme!
