🎈Farewell Fun Factory Family🎈
After 6 unforgettable years of playtime, we have struggled to find the right words to announce the closure of our beloved business The Fun Factory. 💔
This truly was a passion project turned adventure. From first floating the idea to the mind-boggling research, from the weeks of design to the painstaking year-long build, early mornings and late, often sleepless nights before opening and then piecing together a phenomenal team of people that quickly became a family. Finally, then figuring out who we wanted to be and how to stand out, it’s been one hell of a soft play ride.
We survived COVID, we endured some difficult times and enjoyed many great ones too. We put up one heck of a fight and in all honesty kept our business open for much longer than it made sense because we were committed to our dream and our team. Sadly, as the costs kept mounting and the financial pressures too, we’ve found ourselves forced to make the hardest decision.
Two years running, From April 1st our overheads and supplier costs climbed out of reach. Government decisions seem to dismiss or grossly misunderstand the realities of small, independent businesses like ours. We’ve tried and stretched every option, but the numbers no longer add up.
Thank you, to every Grown Up that packed the kids in the car or climbed onto a bus and chose to make memories with your precious Little Cogs at The Fun Factory. We are so grateful for every smile, every high-pitched squeal, every giggle, every gurgle and every gasp of a child having fun that we got to share! Thank you. Your support means more than you’ll ever know.
Despite some regrettable misinformation online, we have not and never considered closing quietly without communicating with our future bookings. We have under difficult circumstances attempted to manage refunds & redundancies privately and sensitively before making a public announcement. We love our team and our customers so feel free to confidently scroll past any negative nonsense.
We are not the first to say goodbye and sadly will not be the last but there are still some amazing small businesses out there in your local community. If you value those places, please support them as often as you can.
Remember… We get old when we stop playing! Life is a serious game but there is always time for a little playtime!
Farewell and Thank you.
