Thanks to everyone for coming along to the open day at the smiddy and thanks for all the positive comments on the restoration. It was nice to speak to you all and we managed to raise £183 for Callum’s Cabin which is fantastic thank you.

As we near the completion of the renovation of Etterick Smiddy and as lots of people have expressed an interest in seeing it , we have decided to have an open afternoon on Saturday 22nd March from 1-4pm for anyone that is interested.
We will have photographs of it in the past and during the restoration so the transformation can be seen. It will no longer be a working smiddy and will become part of the house but we have retained as much of the smiddy equipment and tools as possible so we hope anyone interested will enjoy seeing it.
We have decided to make a collection for Calums Cabin on the day.

Thanks so much, it was a stunning and very spacious getaway in a beautiful location. We loved that it overlooked Ettrick Bay with incredible views over to Goat fell and the peaks on Arran which was nice to see as we go to Arran every year and so it was nice to see them from a distance! The lovely garden was perfect for sitting out in with the table a bit of a sun trap. When the wind picked up every evening and it got a wee bit cold the Sitooterie more than came in handy and was very comfortable and relaxing. Really nice welcome gifts too which helped settle us in and was very generous.

It was by far the best self catering accommodation we've ever stayed in and we cannot wait to return! Just waiting for dates to be released on the website beyond September as we'll be back.
