Artists Throw Open Their Doors for the Isle of Bute Studio Trail 2026
Art lovers, visitors and residents alike are being invited to explore the creativity of the Isle of Bute as the much-anticipated Isle of Bute Studio Trail 2026 returns on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 July. More than 30 artists and makers from across the island will open their studios and exhibition spaces, offering a unique opportunity to meet the people behind the work and gain an insight into their creative processes.
From painting, printmaking and textiles to glass, ceramics, woodcraft and jewellery, the trail showcases the incredible breadth of artistic talent found on Bute. Visitors will have the chance to see artists at work, watch demonstrations, purchase original pieces and learn more about the inspiration behind their creations.
The trail also provides the perfect excuse to discover more of the island itself, with venues located across Bute, from Rothesay and Port Bannatyne to Kilchattan and beyond. Whether travelling by foot, bike, bus or car, participants can enjoy a scenic journey while supporting local artists and makers.
Organised by the Isle of Bute Artists' Collective (IBAC), the annual event has become a highlight of the island's cultural calendar, attracting visitors from across Scotland and beyond. Entry is free, and everyone is welcome to come along, explore the studios and celebrate Bute's thriving creative community.
