🛩️The 80th anniversary events of Victory in Europe, the end of the II World War in Europe have taken off with a flypast displayed by the Red Arrows among others
🛩️On the 8th of May 1945 King George VI and his family welcomed the jubilant crowds on the balcony of the Buckingham Palace 👑
🛩️Today, King Charles III, Prince William and their families stood on the very same balcony before hosting 50 veterans for a tea party 🫖☕

⚔️ During his long life of 72 years, William fought in thousands of tournaments and battles, served five consecutive kings 👑, yet he remind loyal and trustworthy all through his life
⚔️ Whilst crusading in the Holy Land he learned about the building methods of domed cylinder stone towers. His Great Keep, 23 metres high and 6 metres thick at base, still stands proudly after 800 years 🏰

Yes, I am aware that this is more of a Welsh Maybes (or even a Welsh Unlikelies) post but hear me out...

Before Christopher Columbus (and after Leif Eriksen), there was (possibly) Madoc ab Owain Gwynedd - the potentially fictional son of the very much real Welsh King of Gwynedd, Owain Gwynedd.

Not much is known of Madoc and his entire story may have been a fabricated reason for Elizabeth I to justify colonising the Americas, but according to tale, he had set sail to America over three hundred years before Columbus' voyage.

He returned to Cymru; spoke of his successful travels and encouraged men to follow him on a second voyage to the "new" continent. However, he and those same men were never heard from again.

💘Saint Dwynwen [ˈdʊɨnwɛn] the Welsh patron saint of lovers and sick animals is celebrated on the 25th of January
💘 According to a Welsh folktale Dwynwen, a Celtic princess in the 5th century became seriously distraught after her love for Maelon failed.
💘 Consequently Maelon had been turned into a large ice cube by an angel 🪽
💘On Dwynwen's request God granted her three wishes:
1️⃣ that Maelon is released from his ice prison 🧊 2️⃣through her, God will look after all true lovers 💕 3️⃣ that she remains unmarried 💔
💘 Dwynwen' s next step was to withdrew to a small tidal island of Ynys Llanddwyn, off the southwest coast of Anglesey, Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
💘There she built a church called Llanddwyn "Church of Dwynwen" - nowadays a romantic ruin

💘 Nowadays, you too can visit the island of Llanddwyn with some amazing views and welcome by friendly locals 🐎🐴
