Hi everybody. I hope you are all.
Last weekend I cleaned the patio slabs with a new product. It said ready to use but it was a concentrate. Have you ever put too much soap in a washing machine? There was a lot of bubbles outside my chalet! If it hadn’t been so difficult to remove I’d have been laughing too!

Bit of silliness; wat do you find at the end of rainbow?

Wishing all our guests and friends, past and future, Season’s Greetings and a Happy New Year

Well, greetings from a wet and cold Cornwall. I know we’re probably warmer than many places in the UK but it’s cold for Cornwall. So we’re on the count down to Christmas and there are many exciting things happening in the county this month. The wonderful Truro Christmas market with so many Cornish producers selling their produce and products. Fowey and the Cornwall Christmas market also. Heligan has a magical Christmas light garden and the Eden project an ice rink. Mousehole and Padstow have their Christmas light switch on ceremonies soon and Wadebridge will light up their beautiful blue lights. Then around the towns individuals decorate their houses with magical Christmas grottos to raise no one’s for charities. One in Bodmin is famous for the fantastic free display. And when the grey skies clear they put on spectacular colours to enchant you when you visit the seaside. Dogs are allowed again on the beaches so an evening walk becomes a precious memory for you to take home.
We hope you enjoy this festive season and keep well.

So…the summer is at an end. It’s definitely cooler here in Cornwall and the leaves are beginning to turn.
We’d like to say ‘thank you’ to all our guests for using our chalet for their visits to our county. Cornwall has been at its best this year with hot days and fine weather. Not too many storms or rainy days.
There’s lots still to enjoy in September in Cornwall. The harvests in the vineyards and apple orchards, markets like those held in Wadebridge every week. St Ives has its September festival and Newquay has a fish festival. Also in Newquay is the surf and skate festival. Then on the other coast Falmouth puts on its sea shanty event and the Monaco theatre its on their autumn shows. The weather is still reasonably good so these shows should be rain free.
Art shows and craft events are everywhere in Cornwall, I’m particularly fond of Kernowcraft, a small business that supplies jewellers everywhere. Truro Museum and Art Gallery have an exhibition all September of childhood memorabilia from the 80’s. Then of course there are the gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project which show off the plants in their autumn glory. A walk around Lanhydrock’s gardens is also a peaceful pleasure.
Then for those who enjoy more physical pursuits there’s the 57 mile challenge of the Saints Way Ricochet. The surf is usually at its best in September challenging waves without the risks of the winter storms and the lifeguards are in attendance until November. Of course the coastal path is still available with incredible views, amazing sunsets and great little cafes along the way for your breaks.
Cornwall is still a great place to visit even though summers over.

Good morning from a slightly damp Cornwall.
We have royalty in Cornwall today; Prince William and Sophie the Duchess of Edinburgh are opening the Royal Cornwall show. A thousand stalls and exhibits, animal shows by the wonderful farmers of Cornwall and demonstrations by local artisans and entrepreneurs.
The weather means that there’s no risk of sunburn and when the showers come one can always stop at a food outlet to shelter and rest one’s feet.
All the fun of the fair!
