Ferryside Ferryside is a spacious waterfront terraced cottage with direct access onto the beautiful sandy beac A door leads into the ground floor hallway. N.B.

LOCATION The cottage is in a unique location adjacent to East Portlemouth beach on the beautiful Salcombe estuary. It offers excellent opportunities for watersports and other beach activities, and the cottage includes the benefits of both a swinging and running mooring for boats or dinghys. The cottage is also ideally positioned to take the late afternoon and evening sun and to see the sun set beh

ind Salcombe, which can be reached quickly and easily via the small passenger ferry that runs all year round from East Portlemouth slipway (or water taxi after 5.30pm during High Season). VIEWS Ferryside has superb estuary views from all of the South-facing rooms, including the lounge/dining area, family bedroom suite and double bedroom. ENTRANCE Steps lead down from the elevated parking area (on coastal lane above) to the rear of the cottage. UTILITY/CLOAKROOM Just off the hallway is a fully tiled cloakroom with w.c. wash-hand basin and heated towel rail. This room also has a washing machine, tumble dryer, counter top and space to hang wetsuits, towels etc. SHOWER On the opposite side of the hall is a shower room with newly installed cubicle and power shower. KITCHEN A well equipped kitchen with range of fitted units, four-ring halogen hob, double electric oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Door out to terrace. SITTING/DINING ROOM A spacious and sunny room with wonderful dual aspect views of the Salcombe estuary. The sitting area has a two large leather sofas, two armchairs, wood burning stove (logs supplied for first fire), coffee table, sideboard, widescreen television and DVD player. The dining area has a large oak table, chairs and bench seating. A door leads out to the front terrace and access to the beach/estuary. BEDROOMS Four in total, all on first floor. A family suite comprises of two adjoining bedrooms. The first room has a set of metal framed bunk beds (single bed above 4'6"double) and wardrobe - this leads through into a double room with King-size bed, bedside units, drawers and stunning estuary views. A further double room has a 4'6" wooden framed bed, wash-hand basin, dressing table, wardrobe and superb views. Finally, a twin room has two single beds, wash-hand basin and window looking along East Portlemouth beach. All duvets, pillows, bed linen and towels are provided. Tenants will need to bring their own beach towels. Travel cot and high chair available on request. BATH/SHOWER ROOMS In addition to the ground floor shower room is an elegant family bathroom on the first floor. Fully-tiled with bath, hand-held shower, large cubicle with power shower, w.c., wash-hand basin and heated towel rail. OUTSIDE Access from both the sitting room and kitchen to spacious terrace (shared with neighbouring cottage) with table and chairs. Low walls on either side of the cottage between neighbouring properties, and sea wall to front - private steps from the wall down to beach. To the rear is a communal passageway giving access to ferry steps/slipway. PARKING Two off-road parking spaces available, one in the garage and one on the driveway. Further parking usually available opposite the nearby Venus cafe. MOORINGS A running mooring (suitable for a small boat) is available during summer months and a permanent swing mooring may be available upon request (please contact us for more details). OTHER INFORMATION Ferryside is fully double-glazed and enjoys the benefit of oil fired central heating and hot water. Wireless broadband internet available. One well behaved dog is permitted. Strictly no smokers. Please note that there is a drop from the top of the terrace wall to the beach below of approx.15' at low tide and the estuary at high tide - young children must therefore be supervised at all times.

Walking up to the new . The sun is finally shining. What a beautiful day to try it out.

From Ferryside, head up the steps opposite the garage to east portlemouth. Once at the top of the steps, enjoy the divine view. Then follow the road up. The church will be on your right. Keep heading up the hill, you'll pass the village hall on your left, and then round the corner, you'll reach . It is a perfect place to stroll from Ferryside. Dogs are welcome, too 🐕

Mill bay 🏖

Mill Bay Beach is a 5/10 minute walk along the lane at high tide or along the beach at low tide. It's a beautiful bay with a stream running down it, making it ideal for children. Our children have hours of fun creating dams, stick racing, making pools, rock pooling... the list is endless. It is such a beautiful spot, and you can sometimes be lucky enough to get some surf in here. We are so lucky to have this on the doorstep of Ferryside.

Evening Gara Rock walks.

This walk is one of our favourites to do when staying at Ferryside. For a stunning sunset circular route Follow this:
-at the top of the steps turn right a d walk to Mill Bay.
-walk through Mill Bay car park a day follow sign posts to Gara Rock
-After some beautifully hilly woodland you'll follow a fences path through some fields.
-once out of the fields paths, turn right and walk straight infront of the Gara Rock Hotel (stop for a drink or food)
- follow the path round the front of Gara Rock, then to the left slightly.
-take a right turn and follow the coast path the whole way back to Mill bay.
-if the tide is out finish this walk by walking along the beach from Mill Bay back to Ferryside.

This walk is absolutely breath taking.

Sorry, I've been so quiet on here. Winter has hit our children hard, and it's been a bit of a juggling act lately. I have spent tonight reminiscing at our beautiful times at Ferryside. We can not wait for the warmer weather to come and to spend more time on/in the water 🥰 I've been doing some admin tonight, and we only have one date left from not until October.
