There is a moment on every great African journey when you need to simply stop, breathe, and let it all sink in. Zanzibar was made for that moment.
After the dust of the Serengeti, the drama of the Ngorongoro Crater, or the altitude of Kilimanjaro, stepping onto Zanzibar's powdery white sands feels like the universe rewarding you. 🌶️ Spice farm tour: Zanzibar earned its name as the Spice Island for good reason. A guided spice farm tour brings you up close with cloves, nutmeg, vanilla, cinnamon and cardamom growing in their natural habitat. Fragrant, fascinating and utterly memorable.
🐒 Jozani Forest: Home to the rare and endangered Zanzibar red colobus monkey, found nowhere else on earth. A guided walk through this ancient coral rag forest is a wildlife experience that rivals the safari itself.
🐠 Mnemba Atoll: One of the Indian Ocean's finest snorkelling and diving spots, where sea turtles, dolphins, and technicolour reef fish are regular companions beneath the waves.
🌅 Nungwi and Kendwa: Head to the island's northern tip for Zanzibar's most spectacular sunsets, fresh grilled seafood on the beach, and a laid-back atmosphere that makes it almost impossible to leave.
