Wishing tailwinds and strong legs to our London to Amsterdam cyclists who set off today. 🍀🚴

This is always a great ride - challenging, but a lot of good cycling fun, and we're eager to get on the roads.

We're also very pleased to report that our own Hannah will be joining the group, tackling a challenge that she's had as a goal in her recovery from Long Covid. We're really looking forward to following her progress. You can read more of Hannah's journey here: https://hubs.li/Q04vbyzs0

It's Friday! And we're saying bon voyage to our China trekkers, as they head out to take on the Great Wall this weekend. Good luck, team. 🥾

This trip has really bounced back to the top of our bookings list this year, after a longer-than-planned break following you-know-what; this iconic challenge struggled to find its feet for a little while... but not this year. We're so excited because we love this adventure and love showing it off to our trekkers.

If it's on your bucket list, you can book now for 2027 or 2028 - we can't wait for you to join us!

Hello 👋 A lot of new faces here at the moment, and a lot of you found us via a certain Netflix documentary - welcome, we're really glad you're here.

But there's a bit more to us than one mountain.

We're Discover Adventure. Since 1994 we've run charity treks, climbs and cycles - in the UK and right across the world. A one-day Snowdon trek to eighteen days for Everest Base Camp. Kilimanjaro to the Sahara. London to Paris on two wheels, Vietnam to Cambodia... On foot, on a bike, and occasionally behind a team of huskies.

We won't pretend any of it is easy. It's hard... that's rather the point (we don't do 'holidays'). But you're never doing it alone: our leaders and local crews (many with us 20+ years) have your back the whole way up, and back down again.

In that time, the people who take on our challenges have raised almost £150 million for the causes they care about. Every blister and saddle sore has gone somewhere good.

So, hello! Whether you're here for the mountains, the miles or the documentary, have a look around and ask us anything.

August is always a funny month here at DA HQ.

Only a handful of trips are out, and most of you are off on well-earned holidays, or just spending more time outside, away from screens and the everyday routine. We're doing the same where we can: taking a bit of time off, making the most of the school holidays with the people we love, getting some rest.

We love August. Long days, usually plenty of sun, and enough light in the evenings to squeeze in a few mini-adventures.

But it's not all quiet behind the scenes. We're catching up after a busy run of trips at the start of the summer and building towards September and October, our busiest months of the year. So by the end of August there's that back-to-school feeling in the air: a new year, fresh energy, and a team ready to get stuck in.

For now, though, we're putting our feet up for the long weekend. We'll be back in the office on Tuesday with a lot planned that we can't wait to share.

Have a good bank holiday, everyone. ☀️

Our thoughts are with Nepal.

Like many of you, we've watched the devastating news from the Rasuwa region over the past 24 hours. The flooding has caused terrible damage and loss of life, and our hearts are with the families, communities and everyone facing the difficult days ahead.

Nepal means a great deal to us. We've walked its trails, shared its tea houses and worked alongside the same guides, crews and friends there for many years. They are part of the Discover Adventure family, and we're relieved to say our local team are all safe and accounted for - shaken, but well. We've been in direct contact with everyone travelling with us imminently, too.

Right now, our focus is on the people affected. We're in the process of making a donation to the Nepal Flood Appeal, run by The Intrepid Foundation, which is supporting emergency shelter, clean water, first aid and health services on the ground. We're also working with our local team to understand where further support will make the most difference in the weeks to come.

If you're able to, the appeal is open to anyone who'd like to help:

To our friends in Nepal, we're thinking of you, and our hearts are with you.

We've been thrilled with the response to our Grand Départ 2027 - spaces are filling up fast. 🚴

We'll be honest: we had a pretty good feeling about this one!! But it's lovely to see so many of you are as big on the Tour as we are.

Ahead of the bank holiday weekend, a gentle nudge to secure your spot. We imagine plenty of you will be out on the bikes - as seems to be tradition come the August bank holiday, and when you're pedalling with your club, your mates or on your own... if it comes up over coffee and cake... we'd love to have you along.

We reckon this one will sell out, so don't leave it too late.

It's been a month since Aitch: Don't Be Afraid premiered on Netflix, and we wanted to say thank you.

We operated that Kilimanjaro climb back in January 2025 - our leaders Vic and Dr Ellen, our Tanzanian crew of over 20 years, and a lot of very unglamorous logistics behind the scenes.

Watching it become a documentary, and then seeing so many of you watch it and help us spread the word, has genuinely meant a lot to the team here. Plus, hearing about the impact this has had on Down's Syndrome Association is the cherry on top.

Of course, we've seen lots of bookings and enquiries for this iconic challenge as a result - which is fantastic to see so many people be so inspired.

If you haven't watched it yet, it's still streaming. And if you fancy your own Kilimanjaro moment (no film crew required, but also not ruled out) — we run 5 departures throughout the year: https://hubs.li/Q04v9x7S0
