Three-quarters of Japan is mountainous and heavily forested - Most people never see any of it. This trek aims to change that!
We start in Bandai: volcanic mountains, crater lakes in colours that don't look real, and work through the Nikko Mountains to a summit at 2,578m where the views stretch in every direction. Terrain that has nothing to do with the Japan you see on social media. And we finish on the lower slopes of Fuji... iconic for a reason. 🗻
But Japan doesn't let you just walk through it. Along the way, it feeds you, soaks you (onsen are part of the ritual), slows you down in a quiet Edo post town, and speeds you back up again in Tokyo. It's the kind of trip that rewrites what you thought you knew about a place.
The mountains are extraordinary. The culture is everywhere. And somehow the combination of the two makes both feel more vivid. 🇯🇵
Join us in October.
