The Greek Government has just introduced a new tax for all tourists checking into their hotels. Have a read below to see the rates & if it affects you.

If you or anyone you know is travelling to Greece this year, share my page with them to keep them in the loop. Nobody likes hidden surprises, especially when it comes to money!
Greece - In-resort fees and taxes
For stays as from 01/01/2024 or including this date, a Climate Crisis Resilience Fee will be payable directly to the hotel upon arrival.
Fee will be charged per room per night in Euro currency as below:

Properties Licensed as Hotels:
1 or 2 stars 1.50 (March through October) / 0.50 (November through February)
3 stars 3.00 (March through October) / 1.50 (November through February)
4 stars 7.00 (March through October) / 3.00 (November through February)

Ok so here’s some TOP TIPS before & during your trip. These will make life a LOT easier for you. Less stress = More fun! Here goes…….

1️⃣Check your passport validity for your destination BEFORE you book & travel.
2️⃣Check entry requirements of your chosen destination in advance. Visas, vaccinations etc need to be sorted way before you travel to gain entry.
3️⃣Book Early! This is not a sales pitch, most of the hotels & airlines will release their best available rates, rooms & seats in January every year.
4️⃣ The best discounts come in January. Gone are the days of last minute £100 package holidays! Yes, there maybe late availability out there, but consider the room type left & flight times etc
5️⃣ By booking hotels & flights seperately over the net, you will NOT be covered by ATOL & package protection . If a supplier fails whilst you’re in transit ie. Your Airline goes bump, YOU would need to buy a new ticket Yikes!
6️⃣ Some online hotel websites don’t have live pricing, so after confirmation, there may be an increase in the price.
7️⃣ Pack your phone & Passport on your person… not in hand luggage (in case someone takes your bag by mistake in the aircraft!)….. it happens 🙈
8️⃣Spilt your packing between 2 cases if more than one travelling… sets of clothes in each 🤩😎
9️⃣ALWAYS organise your TRAVEL INSURANCE at time of booking… if you have to cancel & you’re not covered… there maybe 100% cancellation charges!
