ℂ𝕒𝕝𝕝𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕒𝕝𝕝 ℂ𝕠𝕣𝕡𝕠𝕣𝕒𝕥𝕖 𝔽𝕠𝕠𝕥𝕓𝕒𝕝𝕝 𝕋𝕖𝕒𝕞𝕤 – both “jumpers for goal posts – park at lunchtime” players and “organised team” players.

ℂ𝕒𝕞𝕓𝕣𝕚𝕕𝕘𝕖 ℂ𝕚𝕥𝕪 𝔽𝕠𝕠𝕥𝕓𝕒𝕝𝕝 ℂ𝕝𝕦𝕓 is finally in its new home in Sawston. As part of their wish to establish themselves in the community and to raise money for local charities and the club, they are putting on City Fest in June 2025. They are planning a 3 day beer festival and a 𝕝𝕠𝕔𝕒𝕝 𝕔𝕠𝕞𝕡𝕒𝕟𝕚𝕖𝕤 𝕗𝕠𝕠𝕥𝕓𝕒𝕝𝕝 𝕥𝕠𝕦𝕣𝕟𝕒𝕞𝕖𝕟𝕥. We need to decide whether to run this as a 5 a side or a full 11 a side tournament, or indeed if there is an appetite to run both. We just don’t know how many teams we have in the area!

Earlier this week we had the pleasure of working from Fanhams Hall close to Ware for the day.
What an amazing "office" we had – The Knebworth. The lovely gardens provided a tranquil place to stroll in our lunch break.
The hotel has many meeting rooms, both modern and historic - and even a room where the boardroom table converts to a ping pong table and the carpet is fake grass!
There are 77 bedrooms, some in the main Hall and the standard rooms are in the newer contemporary extension.
The largest meeting spaces are the Long Gallery and Great Hall in the original house and the Hertford & Ware in the contemporary house. These hold between 70 and 100 cabaret style. The are 18 additional rooms that are ideal for breakout spaces or smaller meetings.
As well as the room with the Ping Pong table the venue has its own Karaoke Klub that is available for private hire only.
Thank you to Annie and the team for taking care of us and showing us not only Fanhams Hall, but giving us an update on all the refurbishment work that is taking place throughout the chain.
I will be writing about the Exclusive Collection Sustainability and Environmental Policy in our next newsletter. But they are the 1st UK Chain to achieve BCorp accreditation! Fanhams Hall is one of the 7 properties in the group and Ansty Hall near Coventry is the newest (going through a refurbishment now).

Our amazing home for the day earlier this week was Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge
Right in the centre of Cambridge, Sidney Sussex can take up to 120 for dinner in their rococo College Hall. The Old Library is perfect for smaller dinners for around 60. Then there are a number of other rooms ideal for smaller groups. We were based in one of the Chapel Court Rooms perfect for 12 boardroom, with in built plasma screens.
The college has lovely gardens, which can be used for drinks receptions and BBQs.

Baby News!
We are happy to announce the safe arrival of little Axel.
Both mum and son are doing well. You can see with the look on mum and dad's faces that he is a well loved little boy 😍.
We cannot wait to meet him next week!

Thank you to Downing College, Cambridge for inviting us to their Garden Party last week.
It was a great opportunity to revisit the College's lovely grounds, meetings and events spaces. We were also able to sample the lovely food and meet the team.
The Howard Lecture Theatre was specially designed for comfort and each chair has its own tablet table - for up to 120 theatre style. Dr Alan Howard had attended many conferences around the world and when donating the money, he made it a stipulation that the seats were suitable for hours of sitting! The college has a number of other rooms that are suitable for meetings and events. Most rooms come with an adjoining room for catering and the minimum numbers are usually 20. All spaces are set in the grounds just off Downing Street. A real gem in the centre of Cambridge.
So glad the rain stayed away. We would have been OK because Richard and Amy from the Hilton Cambridge City Centre were so organised as usual and brought some spare umbrella's with them. Thanks for the team at the Hilton for looking after us so well while we worked there for the day (so we could go to the Garden Party).

A big thank you to Tracey Chatters and the great team at University Arms, Cambridge for hosting HotelRes Ltd for dinner. We were thoroughly spoilt and the food was lovely, as usual. A couple of the team indulged in a "Build Your Own Sundae" complete with traditional sweets including "Rhubarb and Custard", Shrimps and Fizzy Cola Bottles.

We also saw the hotel's new treatment rooms and relaxation suite. Guests can now book in for a number of different massages and treatments.

The University Arms, Cambridge always delivers the perfect executive experience within a very relaxed environment.

Last week we were lucky enough to be able to work from the Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa, Newmarket.

A big thank you to all for looking after us so well. It was great to catch up with the team and experience this lovely hotel from a clients' perspective.

Bedford Lodge is in a converted Georgian hunting lodge and was converted into a hotel in the 1940s. Today the hotel is a great blend of old and new, with the character of a country house and comfort of a modern boutique hotel. The hotel has 80 bedrooms with a further 3 rooms in the exclusive Mews (which also has its own private dining room). The hotel has 5 meeting rooms, the largest the Classics (which splits into 2 rooms) can hold 180 theatre style.

The Spa is separate to the hotel and has 10 treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy pool, five different water experiences, outdoor rooftop hot tub, steam room, sauna and thermal area. The Spa is very popular and has to booked in advance.

Thank you to Nathalie Jean and all the team at Red Carnation Hotels for looking after us last weekend.

We had a lovely weekend in London seeing The Rubens at the Palace, The Milestone Hotel & Residences, Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel and Montague on the Gardens Hotel.

We have always loved the chain and the service we experienced really did not disappoint. The teams all went out of their way to make us feel special. Each hotel has the feel of a small boutique hotel, with fabric covered walls and individual artworks and antiques in each room.

Below you can see pictures of us in the Log Cabin at the Montague on the Gardens, enjoying afternoon tea at The Rubens at the Palace and in the meeting room at The Milestone Hotel.
