๐ OPENING VERY SOON โ SCARBOROUGH CATCH! ๐ฆ๐ฆ
Weโre really excited to announce that Scarborough Catch will be opening very soon in Scarborough Market Hall & Vaults!
For Michael, the fishing and seafood trade isnโt just something heโs recently discovered โ itโs in his blood.
His familyโs connection to Scarboroughโs seafood trade goes back generations. His great-grandad and great-nana, Dennis and Doreen, had their own seafood stall on Scarborough seafront in the 1960s.
Now, decades later, Michael is proud to be carrying that family tradition forward and starting the next chapter with Scarborough Catch.
Over the last two years, Michael has been working alongside his dad in the fishing and seafood industry, learning the trade firsthand and developing a real passion for fresh, quality seafood.
From working with live lobsters and crabs at his uncle and dadโs seafood factory, to working at the seasonal seafood stall on Scarboroughโs West Pier, and travelling around Yorkshire attending village markets and food festivals, Michael has gained plenty of hands-on experience along the way.
A huge part of Michaelโs journey has also been learning from Steve Swift, a well-known and respected member of Scarboroughโs fishing industry, who previously had Mainprizes wet fish shop on St Thomas Street.
Steve has generously spent many hours passing on his knowledge and experience to Michael, simply because he saw how enthusiastic and passionate Michael was about learning the trade.
Weโre incredibly grateful to Steve for giving his time and sharing knowledge gained from years in the industry โ the sort of knowledge and experience you simply canโt learn from a book.
Michael has now spotted a fantastic opportunity in Scarborough: to bring a dedicated fresh fish and seafood stall right into the heart of the town.
Scarborough Catch will be offering a large range of:

๐ฆ Freshly dressed crabs
๐ฆ Dressed or freshly boiled lobsters
๐ฆ Seafood platters for 1, 2 or 3 people
๐ค A large selection of cooked, ready-to-eat seafood
๐ฅช Fresh seafood sandwiches
๐ And plenty more!
๐ Scarborough Market Hall will become Michaelโs permanent base for fresh fish and shellfish, while we continue attending markets, villages and food festivals across Yorkshire.
Scarborough Market Hall is already a fantastic place to buy fresh, local produce, and weโre proud to become part of it and bring something new to whatโs already on offer.
From Dennis and Doreenโs seafront stall in the 1960s, through the generations, to Michael opening Scarborough Catch today โ itโs another chapter in a family connection to Scarboroughโs seafood trade that has lasted for generations. โค๏ธ
