CYCLING HOLIDAYS

With The Cinder Track, Dalby Forest and many other cycle routesacross The North York Moors National Park and the facilities our cottages offer we are the perfect location to come on a cycling holiday.

Our cottages have secure cycle storage with heated drying lockers.

You can get out and explore the stunning scenery of the moors and coast

These routes are circular so you can start and finish at the same point, there are many other routes for all abilities to enjoy.

PLANTATION COTTAGE
Whitby Road, Cloughton YO13 0AW

Plantation Cottage sleeps 10 guests and is also dog freindly
There is also a secure shed for locking bikes in, it also has a heated drying locker for drying wet kit and a dog shower for giving your dog a good swill off if needed.

The house has 3 bedrooms upstairs and one on the ground floor with an ensuite shower. The bedrooms upstairs are 2 superkings and the 3rd has bespoke bunkbeds with 4 full size single beds.

The kitchen is farm house style with large dining table, it has a stable door that you can enjoy the stunning view out across open countryside to Scarborough and the Yorkshire Coast.

The lounge has comfortable seating for 10 with a log burner for infront of for cosy evenings. There is also a small snug with a tv and seating, the washing machine is located in a cupboard in that room.

WHITBY

Enjoy a day out in the very historic town of Whitby

It is also possible to walk down The Cleveland Way or The Cinder Track to Whitby then you can get the x93 or x94 back to Cloughton

The town has alot to offer from it's yards and historical sights, to golden sandy beaches, amusment arcades, crazy golf, fish and chips and many other lovely places to eat and enjoy a drink. Then last but not least you can enjoy a ride around the town on the yellow bus and enjoy all the sights in comfort.

The Mistal is a quaint barn conversion that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

It has an open lounge dinner with gas effect log burner
The kitchen is fully equiped. It has an oven, microwave, kettle, tassimo coffee machine, fridge and freezer, washer dryer, dish washer and toaster
The bathroom has a bath with shower over it
Upstairs there is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom
Outside there a re views across meadows to The Cinder Track beyond and woodland.

The cottage has wifi

There is parking for 2 cars

DOGS WELCOME

We welcome dogs in all of our cottages
There is no charge for dogs
We welcome multiple dogs
There are dog showers, shampoo and towels
We have heated drying lockers to dry wet kit
We leave a dog welcome pack for your dog
There is also an information sheet on where to get dog supplies and vets etc
There are dog friendly beaches and places to eat locally

HOWEVER as welcome as your dogs are we would like to just remind guests that they must clean up after their dogs as you do when you are any where else. On Friday I was very upset to receive the last picture from our gardeners who had to clean up several shovels of someones dogs mess. This is not fair and they should not have to do it before they cut the grass.

So to keep us dog friendly please clean up after your dogs

AMPLEFORTH ABBEY TEA ROOM

This lovely tea room has a lovely selection of cakes, scones, breakfast buns, meals and afternoon teas and a large selection of drinks to go with them.

You can also meet the fathers that live and work at the Abbey enjoying a drink and something to eat. The cafe is a lovely peaceful place to enjoy refreshments after you have wandered around the grounds and orchard.

In the tea room you can also see the lovely mouse man furniture of which there is alot all over the site.

AMPLEFORTH ABBEY
Ampleforth, York YO62 4EN

The Abbey is approximatley 38 miles and takes around 1 hour to get to across some of the most beautiful Yorkshire Countryside.

The Abbey Church and grounds are open 7 days a week, the visitor centre and tea room are open 10am -5pm across the summer. Entry to the whole site is free.

This amazing historical site is dog friendly, dogs must be kept on leads at all times

The Abbey is home to a community of Benedictine monks and has been since 1802.

Today there are over 1,500 trees and ‘over 5 acres, the Ampleforth Abbey Orchard is one of the largest commercial orchards in the North of England.

With more than 50 varieties of apples that ripen naturally between August and January in the traditionally managed orchards. The full juice cider is made from a blend of dessert and culinary apples, pressed in the Abbeys own Cider Mill where it is fermented and matured for eight months.

While here you can sit in and listen to one of the services in the Abbey, while enjoying the quiet peacefull atmosphere. You do not have to be religious to enjoy this amazing place and the stunning views across the valley.

ROSE COTTAGE
At Newlands Farm, Newlands Road, Cloughton YO13 0AR

Rose Cottage is converted barn that is cosy and tastefully decorated sleeping 4 guests in 2 bedrooms, a double and a twin bedroom.
It has a well equiped kitchen including cooker, tassimo coffe machine, toatser, drinks fridge, under counter fridge and also freezer, a washer dryer and a dish washer. All crookery, cuttlery, baking trays and pans are supplied.
The open plan lounge dinner has dining table, sofas and chairs with a lovely electric log effect log burner and tv. There is also a downstairs loo in the entrance hall.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms one double that also has a tv, then there is a twin bedroom. The bathroom has a bath and a seperate shower cubicle.
The cottage is also dog friendly and there is a dog shower, heated drying lockers, we also have a bike storage shed. Guests also have the use of a shared hot tub in a communal garden with stuuning views over the Yorkshire Coast and Scarborough castle.
