West Ayton/ A170. The cottages are located at High Yedmandale Farm, near West Ayton a non-working farm, set in the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors National Park. There is also small caravan and campsite. Ground floor double bedrooms and bathrooms in both cottages are ideal for less able people. The patios are fenced and enclosed ideal for dogs and children. Lots of walks and cycling from the doorstep. The cottages are a great base to visit the east coast & surrounding areas. Scarborough - 6 miles
Whitby - 21 miles
York - 32 miles

Wow exciting news for the EV Drivers visiting the area !

Forty-eight new electric vehicle chargers are to be installed across the borough.

We have secured £260,000 for an initial roll out of charging points at 18 locations.

Whitby will get 12 chargers, 27 will be installed across Scarborough, there will be three in Filey and two each in Robin Hood’s Bay, Staithes and Runswick Bay.

The locations in the first phase have been chosen where there is limited or no access to on-street parking and they are designed to be used by local residents.

The charge points will be a mixture of 7kw and 22kw to provide flexibility in terms of capacity and therefore speed of charging.

It’s hoped the first devices will be installed before the end of the year in what will be the biggest roll out of electric vehicle chargers anywhere in North Yorkshire.

Expert predictions suggest there will be more than 8,000 plug-in vehicles in the borough by 2030 when the ban on the sale of new diesel and petrol engines comes into force.

Moonlight on the Lake returns in October

Our popular event which sees Peasholm Park’s lake illuminated is back for 2022.

Moonlight on the Lake takes place from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Friday 21 October.

We’re once again working with the team at Animated Objects and this year there will be more opportunities for dragon pedalo crews to take part.

Each one will be lit up and the boats are expected to create a collective magical display.

Pedalos have a maximum of four people, all crew members need to be aged 12 or older and at least one crew member must be an adult.

Sessions are in two blocks of half an hour and ‘sailing’ times will be staggered across the two-hour event.
