It is National Dolphin Day today. 🐬

Amazingly only a few years ago, before 2019, Dolphins were a rare sight off Yorkshire with an average of just 4 or 5 sightings a year.

However, since then visits by Bottlenose Dolphins have increased enormously to over 600 sightings last year!! They have gone from being the rarest to most common species spotted off our coast.

As promised, we can now confirm the new date for our annual Open Day.

From station tours to activities organised by the Ladies Lifeboat Guild, there is so much planned to choose from. Stormy Sam will also be visiting the station and there will be tea and coffee available.

Learn about your local RNLI station, including its history, behind-the-scenes, our protective clothing, the D Class lifeboat, the SLARS unit, and the Shannon lifeboat. You may get to meet the Lyke Wake Walk team too.

It will be a jam-packed day, so come along and say hello.

One of the other boats in Scarborough has a phone number similar to ours. The last few digits of the phone number are the same as ours.

The boat Mary Ellen II ( or you may have booked under Sea Haze) has no association with us.

We sympathise with the grievances the customers have when they contact us to complain thinking we are the same, however WE CERTAINLY ARE NOT.

When you phone please check you are phoning the right boat.
