The popular coastal town of Seaton lies just to the west of the Axe estuary, one of the most beautiful and unspoilt parts of East Devon. The town’s mile-long beach is mostly pebble, and is excellent for a wide variety of watersports from swimming to sailing, diving and windsurfing.
The famous Seaton Tramway is a short walk away and the Jurassic Coast is a 3 minute walk away, there is also the recent, multi million pound, Jurassic Coast centre to enjoy.
Seaton boasts natural wildlife reserves, mud flats, salt marshes and even a waterfall.
There are also a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants in this small Devon town and a short stroll along the mile long Esplanade will take you to the picturesque harbour.
The town lies adjacent to the Axe Estuary wetlands and marshes, whilst being surrounding by beautiful rolling Devon countryside and quaint villages. Leisure and recreational opportunities include sailing, bowls, cricket, tennis, football and art classes. Located close by is the classic popular village of Beer (2 miles), Regency Sidmouth (8 miles) and Lyme Regis (7 miles) with it’s famous Cobb.
For the more adventurous you can try paddleboarding off the beach or a trip to Beer for self-drive motor boats, Pecorama and Quarry Caves. Whatever the time of year there is plenty to do and see for couples and families in this area of outstanding natural beauty.
There is also an option to go golfing in Exmouth, they do a pay by day rate.
