🌿 Canary Islands Choose Regeneration Over a Tourist Tax

After welcoming a record 18.39 million visitors last year, the Canary Islands have announced REGNEXT – a new Tourism Regeneration & Nature Restoration Fund. Rather than introducing a compulsory tourist tax, visitors will have the option to make a voluntary contribution towards environmental conservation, community projects and protecting the islands for future generations. It’s a refreshing approach that supports sustainable tourism while keeping holidays affordable. 🌍💙

☀️ Keeping you in the loop from Gran Canaria – Day 2!

We're staying at the Gloria Palace San Agustín, and so far it's been a fantastic choice for our family holiday with 14 of us!

✨ Brilliant food with loads of choice
💦 Powerful showers (always a holiday win! 😂)
🏖️ Great pools and facilities
🎭 Fantastic entertainment every evening
😊 Friendly, welcoming staff throughout
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Perfect for larger family groups with plenty of space for everyone

It's been lovely to properly experience the hotel first-hand, and it's definitely one I'd be happy to recommend if you're looking for a family-friendly break in Gran Canaria.

The rooms are some of the biggest we have had at any hotel, with family suits with multiple rooms also available.

The hotel is also just a short walk from Playa de San Agustín, a lovely, relaxed beach, and you can easily stroll along the promenade to Playa del Inglés if you fancy exploring a little further. So I’ll be heading that way today 👙⛱️

Did you know Gran Canaria is known as a "continent in miniature"? From golden sand dunes and beautiful beaches to dramatic mountains and charming villages, there's so much more to this island than meets the eye.

I'm heading there this weekend and can't wait to explore it for myself!
