I will be at the Otford Village Fete on Monday – find me in the Craft Village area.

I’ll not be taking specific orders on the day, but I will have a few samples on display, and I’ll be there to provide information, answer queries, just have a chat … or to offer shelter from a shower😉
Hope to see you there, Patricia

There are so many ways to frame any picture – making a decision is not always black and white.
I’m always happy to explore options with you, offer suggestions, and guide you to the framing that’s just right for you and your picture.

One of my recent framing commissions – this dramatic painting came to me as a loose canvas, which I stretched first over a handmade stretcher, then framed in a bold, textured black frame, lifted by the addition of a small red slip frame. The customer loved it and within an hour of collecting the finished piece, sent me a photo of it hanging on their wall.

I created frames for these two delightful watercolours using the same white moulding, but I’ve added a narrow slip to each – one silver, one gold. An easy and effective way to turn a plain frame into something special.

A glimpse of the grandeur of Venice is captured in this tiny watercolour, which I’ve set in a wide triple mount within a beautiful watery green frame. The frame’s ornate leaf embossed design is picked out with black and gold highlights.

Sometimes I’m almost sad when a customer takes away a finished framing job, and this stunner was a pleasure to have in my workshop before it was collected. It’s a Grayson Perry print – ‘Magical Thinking’ – which I’ve surface mounted onto black and set in a distinctively embossed gold frame. The frame moulding is gilded and hand-finished with beeswax to give a stunningly rich finish, and an inner narrow black frame adds extra depth.
I was pleased with the framing, and intrigued by the artwork. Quoting the art dealer: ‘the work’s title references the layer of mystical subjectivity through which we each engage with reality’.

This frame has a lovely elegant profile and comes in a range of sizes and colours. Here in taupe, it’s an excellent colour match for the print, which maps out the sea areas of the British Isles.
I love this print, just as I love listening late at night to the shipping forecast on Radio 4, with its reassuring, poetic rhythms. When I say listening, I really mean drifting off: Rockall, Malin, Hebrides, good becoming moderate, falling slowly…😴!!

Sometimes just a simple greetings card deserves a frame. A friend sent me this card, depicting someone happily at work in their shed, under the watchful eye of their dog. I’ve framed it in a lovely raw walnut frame, to hang in my framing shed… where I work under the watchful eye of my dog Toby.

I framed this pair of limited-edition prints in a narrow black frame inset within a chunky white outer frame, retaining the white paper border of the print, and finished with non-reflect glass.

This big and beautiful photo arrived as a canvas print, rolled up in a cardboard tube. Mounted onto a rigid backing, and framed in an open-grain white scooped frame, it now looks suitably magnificent.
