At Mocketts Farm, we know your dog deserves a little holiday too. So if you're bringing them along on your countryside escape, why not make use of our very own private dog exercise field onsite?

Our secure, two-acre field is the ideal space for your pup to run, play, and stretch their legs. Whether it's a game of fetch, a stroll through the grass, or even a bit of agility training, it's all here for them to enjoy.

Mocketts Farm Dog Field is open to everyone, free for our Mocketts Farm Cottages guests and £12 for a 50 minute slot if you're not staying at the cottages - bookings must be made in advance either way.

Winter Wildlife in Harty 🦉
Harty is a haven for wildlife all year round, but winter brings a unique spectacle as migratory birds arrive and rare species thrive. Here are some of the winter highlights to look for:

✨ Barn Owl
With its heart-shaped face and pure white underbelly, the barn owl is a captivating sight. You're most likely to spot this unmistakable bird gliding at dusk, hunting silently over the marshes.

✨Marsh Harrier
These magnificent raptors are instantly recognisable by their 1.2m wingspan and distinctive V-shaped wing posture in flight. Males have brown plumage with pale grey wings tipped in black, while females are dark brown with a striking cream-coloured head.

✨Merlin
The UK's smallest falcon, Merlins can be found on the coastal marshes in winter. They're just a little larger than a blackbird, with slate-grey plumage and a short, square tail.

✨Golden Plover
This elegant wader is a winter favourite. Look for its golden-speckled feathers and white underbelly as it gathers in flocks on the coastal flats.

✨Little Owl
A charming resident of Harty's farmland, the little owl often perches on fences or tree branches, keeping watch for prey. Mostly active at dusk and dawn, this small owl is worth keeping an eye out for as the light fades.

Whether you're a birdwatcher or simply a nature lover, Harty's winter wildlife is not to be missed!
