Yes… I’m off to India! 🇮🇳✈️

For those of you who guessed from my not-so-subtle Taj Mahal clue… you were right!

I’m heading off on my own adventure from 2nd–18th October, and this time it’s India.

And what an itinerary I’ve got ahead of me…

🇮🇳 Delhi
🚂 Shimla by train
✨ Agra and the Taj Mahal
🐅 Ranthambore
🕌 Jaipur

I’m not sure I can choose what I’m most excited about.

Seeing the Taj Mahal for the first time is going to be incredibly special, I’m fascinated to experience the train journey to Shimla, and naturally I’m hoping Ranthambore might deliver a certain striped resident… although wildlife never reads the itinerary! 🐅

More than anything, I’m looking forward to experiencing India for myself – the sights, sounds, food, hotels, journeys and all those little things you simply can’t learn from a brochure.

I’m going to try to capture plenty while I’m there (wish me luck!), but I’m also going to enjoy my holiday rather than spending it posting on social media.

When I’m home, I’ll have lots to share with you – and hopefully plenty of first-hand tips for anyone considering their own India adventure.

India… I’ll see you very soon! 🇮🇳❤️

My own next adventure is getting very close now… and I am very excited about this one.

It’s somewhere I’ve wanted to experience properly for a long time.

There’ll be incredible history, amazing food, wildlife, a rather special train journey and more than a few places I’ve seen in photographs countless times but never with my own eyes.

I’m not giving the game away just yet… although the photo might be a slight clue. 😉😂

A little advance warning… ✈️

I’m going to be swapping my desk for somewhere rather exciting in October! 👀

I’ll be taking some annual leave from 2nd–18th October, so I wanted to give everyone plenty of notice.

If you’ve been thinking about your next holiday and would like me to start looking at ideas, particularly if you’re planning something a little more complicated, please don’t leave it until the last minute.

I always like to give each trip the time and attention it deserves, so getting in touch over the next couple of weeks means we can have a proper chat and I can get to work before I disappear.

And where am I going?

I’m keeping that under wraps for just a little bit longer… although there may be a clue appearing on here very soon. 😉🌍

Why has one client trusted me with their holidays for over 15 years? ❤️✈️

Recently, a lovely client left me a review that really made me smile.

I’ve been arranging their holidays for more than 15 years, and during that time we’ve planned all sorts of adventures together – from cruises and relaxing escapes to several trips all the way to Australia.

Over the years, you get to know what people enjoy.

The hotels they’ll love.
The things that matter to them.
What represents good value for their holiday.
And sometimes, what definitely won’t suit them!

That’s one of the things I love most about looking after the same clients year after year. I’m not starting from scratch every time they want to go away – there’s a relationship and a level of trust that we’ve built together.

Yes, I can book that too… ✈️

When I share some of the tailor-made trips I arrange – Australia, safari adventures, multi-centre itineraries and once-in-a-lifetime celebrations – it would be very easy to think that’s all I do.

But sometimes you just want a really good holiday.

A week in Tenerife. ☀️
A family holiday in Majorca.
A city break in Lisbon.
A trusted hotel or holiday brand you’ve already got your eye on.

Yes, I can book those too.

I work with many of the well-known travel and hotel brands you’ll recognise, so before automatically heading online and booking direct, it’s always worth asking me.

Because booking something straightforward doesn’t mean you have to give up having someone there to help.

You still get my experience when it comes to choosing the right resort, hotel, room or flight. You still have someone to ask when you’re not quite sure which option is best. And, importantly, you’ve got me to turn to if you need help before or during your holiday.

Last week a pretty big milestone slipped past me… I quietly hit 21 years at Travel Counsellors of arranging travel for my amazing clients!
(Over 40 Years in the industry though!!)

It passed by in a blur of itineraries, flight changes and hotel checks (which probably says it all about how much I love what I do), but I did not want to let it go by without saying a huge thank you.
Over the past 21 years I have: • Helped families build holiday traditions that now span generations
• Planned honeymoons that turned into annual anniversary trips
• Sorted countless last‑minute changes, delays and dramas so my clients could relax and carry on enjoying their time away

What has never changed is how grateful I am to be trusted with something as special as your holidays and time together.

If you’re already thinking about your 2027 holidays, this is one worth saving.

By being clever with your annual leave around the England & Wales bank holidays, you can create some lovely longer breaks without using anywhere near as many leave days.

📅 NEW YEAR
Book off: Monday 4 – Friday 8 January
➡️ Off from Friday 1 – Sunday 10 January
5 days’ leave = 10 days off

🐣 EASTER
Book off: Monday 22 – Thursday 25 March
➡️ Off from Saturday 20 – Monday 29 March
4 days’ leave = 10 days off

🌷 EARLY MAY BANK HOLIDAY
Book off: Tuesday 4 – Friday 7 May
➡️ Off from Saturday 1 – Sunday 9 May
4 days’ leave = 9 days off

☀️ SPRING BANK HOLIDAY
Book off: Tuesday 1 – Friday 4 June
➡️ Off from Saturday 29 May – Sunday 6 June
4 days’ leave = 9 days off

🌴 SUMMER BANK HOLIDAY
Book off: Tuesday 31 August – Friday 3 September

This is the really good one…

Book off: Wednesday 29 – Friday 31 December 2027 and Tuesday 4 – Friday 7 January 2028
➡️ Off from Saturday 25 December – Sunday 9 January
7 days’ leave = 16 days off

That’s 28 days of annual leave creating 63 days off across those six breaks. 🙌

Of course, you don’t need to use every one! But if you’ve been dreaming about somewhere that deserves more than a week – Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka or a proper multi-centre adventure – those longer stretches are worth knowing about.

Save this for when you’re planning your 2027 leave… and send it to the person you want to travel with! 😉

Sunday question… what holiday are you STILL talking about? 💭✈️

We all have one.

That holiday that somehow finds its way into conversation years later.

Maybe it was the hotel you never wanted to leave, a meal you still compare every other meal to, something incredible you saw, or simply a trip where everything just seemed to fall into place.

It doesn’t have to have been the furthest you’ve travelled or the most luxurious hotel you’ve stayed in either.

Sometimes it’s the little things that make a holiday unforgettable.

So, for a bit of Sunday reminiscing…
