Do NOT share a photo of your boarding pass!
❌
Did you know that posting a photo of your boarding pass on social media can expose you to serious risks?
While sharing your boarding pass might seem harmless—or even exciting—it actually contains sensitive information that can be misused in dangerous ways, such as:
1. Accessing your personal information: Boarding passes contain codes (like barcodes or QR codes) that can be easily scanned with common apps. These can reveal your full name, booking reference, ticket number, and sometimes even passport details.
2. Hijacking your booking: With your booking reference or ticket details, someone could potentially access your flight reservation, change it, or even cancel it.
3. Identity theft or fraud: Your personal data can be used for scams, or to hack into other accounts—especially if you reuse the same info across different platforms.
Tip: If you want to share your travel experience, post a photo of the sky, the airport, or your luggage—but avoid showing your boarding pass or any official document that contains codes or personal data.
