🗽 Who said New York is only for Christmas? 🇺🇸

New York is one of those places that just has an energy of its own.

From walking across the Brooklyn Bridge and taking in that incredible skyline, to the chaos of Times Square, there’s something happening everywhere you look.

But one of the most memorable parts of my visit was seeing the 9/11 Memorial. After all the noise and excitement of Manhattan, standing there was a completely different experience. Quiet, emotional and incredibly powerful.

New York certainly isn’t just a Christmas destination.

🇮🇸 Iceland, an experience I’ll never forget.

I’ve been lucky enough to travel to some incredible places, but Iceland was something completely different.

Yes, the waterfalls, glaciers and landscapes were incredible, but it was the unexpected moments that really made the trip for me.

Out on the ocean, we had an incredible humpback whale encounter. 🐋 Seeing a whale in its natural environment, out in the open water, is something I’ll never forget.

Then came one of my favourite memories…

We were kayaking through Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, surrounded by icebergs, when this curious little seal kept appearing around us. 🦭

We ended up naming him Seal Diamond and he seemed more interested in playing with us than leaving us alone!

There we were, kayaking between huge pieces of glacial ice with a seal popping up around us. It was one of those completely unexpected travel moments that you couldn’t have planned if you tried.

And I think that’s what I love most about travelling.

You can plan the itinerary, book the hotels and choose the experiences but you can’t plan the memories.

Iceland gave me plenty of them. 🇮🇸

I’d go back in a heartbeat.

I’ve been a little quiet on here recently, but for very good reason!

I’ve just returned from an incredible couple of weeks of travelling, including an Ambassador Cruise Line sailing to Honfleur, where I had the chance to experience the beautiful Ambience and explore the local area on a fantastic day trip in Citroën 2CVs. 🚢🇫🇷

We headed out from Honfleur and explored the surrounding area, including a local c***r farm and château, all from the seats of these iconic little French cars! Then it was straight on to Iceland, driving along the South Coast and taking in some truly majestic scenery.

From walking behind some of Iceland’s incredible waterfalls to kayaking amongst icebergs in the Glacier Lagoon, Iceland certainly delivered. And, of course, I wasn’t alone… I had Seal Diamond and Neil the Seal for company.

Needless to say, I’ve come home with a slightly ridiculous amount of photos and video footage…
