Thanks to all who enjoyed our April Fool post!

Due to high customer demand we have decided today is the day for a bit of fun and "Pool Flair" . We have resisted adding hot tubs as we didn’t feel we really had the location for them in the gardens and we were not sure what the locals in the village would think. We decided that we had lots of space in the car park for a communal tub that guests can share and also be a community asset to the locals when we don’t have guests staying.

About us

Having spent much of my childhood in Dorset it is a part of the country that I really love to explore. When we first found the barns we fell in love with the location and the property. We started with Meadow View our 2 bedroom property in 2011 and were lucky to be able to take on the larger 3 bedroom Shippens in 2016.

The barns in located in a small village about 3 miles from the beautiful town of Sherborne with its historic buildings and individual shops. It is the perfect base to explore rural Dorset and only around 25 miles from some of the most fantastic coastline if you like a sandy beach or looking for fossils. We have a traditional village pub just a half mile walk and a wonderful gastro pub one and a half miles. We also have a members only food and wine store that is a short walk through the grounds of Compton House, previously a silk farm that provided silk for Princess Diana’s wedding dress.

Having stayed in many self catering properties ourselves we knew that we did not want a property that looked like it was full of handed down furniture. We have worked hard to ensure that the barns are presented to a high standard and well maintained. We have used good quality furnishing and provide 100% cotton bed linen. We understand that while many people want a quiet escape many still want to be connected to the outside world. We provide Superfast broadband, 40” 4K smart TVs a blueray player and even a Wii console and games.

We really look forward to reading the guest book after guests have stayed, its great to read the comments of how people of enjoyed their time and we have exceeded expectations.
