A postcard from Madagascar 🇲🇬

Chris and Rosemary have just returned from their June adventure, and their tailor-made holiday was truly special. From rainforest hikes in Andasibe and wildlife encounters in Ranomafana, to dramatic scenery in Isalo and coastal walks in Masoala, they experienced the island’s extraordinary diversity to the fullest.

They not only spotted lemurs and chameleons in the wild, but also connected with Madagascar’s rich cultural heritage by visiting remote villages and learning about daily life from local guides.

We’re glad they had such a wonderful experience and grateful they’ve shared a glimpse with us.

A Night in the Wild at Garonga Safari Company
If you're looking for something truly unforgettable on safari, look no further.

Garonga’s sleep-out deck isn’t just ‘another’ experience you can add on — it’s a chance to step out of the vehicle, away from the lodge, and spend a night immersed in the stillness of the bush. Elevated and completely private, the deck is set on the far edge of the reserve, overlooking a waterhole and backed by the Drakensberg Mountains.

You’ll arrive before sunset, with time to settle in, enjoy dinner and drinks, and watch the sky shift through soft pinks into deep indigo. When it comes to spotting leopards in the wild, Sri Lanka quietly rivals—and even beats—some of Africa’s best-known safari spots. Why? The Sri Lankan leopard, found only on this island, has no lions or tigers to compete with. That makes them the primary predator here (and unusually bold and visible during the day).⁠

The population is estimated at around 750 to 1,000 individuals, and the chances of a sighting are high if you head to the right parks. ⁠
📍Yala National Park boasts the highest leopard density in the world!⁠

This week, we’re sharing an incredible ‘Sundowner Moment’ from Stephen and Sarah Halls, who have recently returned from their adventure in Costa Rica. They’ve shared some wonderful highlights from their trip with us including some stunning photos:⁠

"The entire holiday was filled with incredible wildlife and memories, but two locations or activities stood out.⁠
⁠
Our experience at the Arenal Observatory Lodge was truly magical! The mix of breathtaking scenery with the volcano and lake, plus the accessibility of wildlife right outside our door, was unforgettable. The fact that we could enjoy toucans and hummingbirds while having our morning coffee is the kind of experience that makes a trip memorable. We were able to immerse ourselves in nature without leaving the extensive grounds and trails of the Lodge. The early morning guided walk and the evening frog pond started and finished each day wonderfully, and we are sure the trails we didn't have time to explore held even more surprises.⁠
⁠
We took two wildlife boat trips during our trip, and both the Cano Negra trip and the Mangrove tour (from the Osa Peninsula) yielded some wonderful sights. Cruising slowly and quietly along the rivers and inlets gave a relaxed and different perspective to the scenery, and we saw all three monkey species, plenty of raptors, kingfishers, and so much more. After a few days of hiking, relaxing on the boats with cameras at the ready was the perfect way to take a time-out."⁠
