Fancy being a 2026 Hencote Harvest Hero?

We've opened up our volunteer list for this year's harvest.

Join us in the great outdoors and experience one of the most exciting times in the vineyard calendar. You'll spend the day among the vines helping to bring in the year's crop, learning more about English winemaking and becoming part of the journey from grape to glass.

In return, we'll keep you fuelled with breakfast and lunch, plus you'll enjoy a well-earned glass of wine made from the very grapes you're helping to harvest.

At this time of year, one of the most important jobs in the vineyard is wire lifting.

As the vines grow, thousands of individual shoots need guiding upwards between pairs of foliage wires to create an open, orderly canopy. While it may look simple, this careful process helps maximise sunlight exposure, improve airflow around the fruit, and encourage more even ripening throughout the vineyard.

At Hencote, this is just one of the many hands-on tasks that reminds us that great wine starts long before the grapes reach the winery!

20th June, we're opening up the vineyard for a relaxed evening of pizza, music and golden-hour views at Hencote.

No formalities. Just great wine, food, chilled beats and one of the best sunset spots in Shropshire.

Your ticket includes a buffet of authentic Italian pizzas, crispy fries and fresh garden salads, while our DJ provides the soundtrack as the vineyard turns golden and the evening rolls on.
