Rebecca Waterfield Equine Sports Massage Therapy
Having owned, ridden and competed from a young age and worked professionally with everything from much-loved family ponies to international competition horses, I understand the importance of having a healthy, happy horse who is able to perform at their very best, whatever their discipline. I have worked with many horses recovering from injury or wit
h life long conditions which has not only given me valuable experience but also fuelled my interest in equine rehabilitation and the benefits of complementary therapies. To further my knowledge and fulfil a passion to make a positive difference to the horses I work with, I completed a diploma in Equine Sports Massage at The College of Animal Therapies, qualifying in 2016. Equine Sports Massage uses professional sports massage techniques, manipulating soft tissue to loosen muscles and identify areas of stress or weakness in the musculoskeletal system. This hands-on, holistic approach provides many benefits to the whole body, meaning any horse can benefit from ESM treatment, from happy hacker or top athlete. ESM Benefits include:
~Improved range of movement, coordination and balance
~Improved circulation and lymph flow
~Improved stamina
~Improved mental well-being
~Releases muscular tension
~Reduced chance of injury
~Aids recovery from illness or injury
Massage can be incorporated into a rehabilitation program, including those on box rest; used before and after competition and as a general maintenance to help keep you horse supple and relaxed. PLEASE NOTE:
