Feeling left out or not welcome at a play park can be hurtful! Sometimes parents want to avoid awkward questions from their children, but it is natural for young children to be inquisitive. The MMF Youth Panel has come up with these top tips to help. We would love to hear what you think? Do you have any suggestions?

Please do:
- Make eye contact
- Smile
- Say Hello
- Encourage others with you to say hi.
- Ask me to play!
- Let children ask questions
- Be kind

Please do not:
- Hush your child if they ask an awkward question. Many of us will help with answers to questions.
- Ignore me
- Stare without saying hi
- Speak to the adult I am with instead of me
- Talk about me as though I do not hear or understand
- Tell me I’m amazing or an inspiration!
- Call my parent a hero and don’t tell them they are doing something you couldn’t do
