The business was set up by myself (Steph) and my husband Rob in 1984. We were both 18 years old. We started up originally to earn enough money to visit an uncle in Australia. We made home made cakes in my mother in laws kitchen and then sold them at Bourne Market (Lincs). Our recipes came from family members, friends and then customers. y mums and the pastry recipe was Rob's Great Aunt Midges. We were so busy and loved what we did, that soon it became more serious and we started up Wilcox Bakery. We did eventually get to visit Australia but 10 years later. Now my brother Paul runs the bakery with us, and we have an amazing team of workers (family and friends) who have been with us for years. My mum retired only last year and was with us from the start. Our main principle is to make every thing from scratch, not one mixture is bought ready prepared.
