Just been on the BBC Radio Newcastle chatting to Steffen Peddie.

So, to anyone new here... Welcome!

I am currently running the tours on a request only basis (bad back, new job, won't bore you). If you have a date in mind, drop me a message. I need a minimum of 4 full paying adults (£7.50 each) for a tour to go ahead, but I can open it up to the general public to make.up the numbers.

I am in a quandary. I would like to run some tours this month but I need people to actually book and pay to guarantee it goes ahead.

You are more than welcome to pick a day and time for either the Original Tour or the Child-friendly Tour. Just comment or drop me a message.

I need at least 3 full paying adults to make it worthwhile. I can take up to 20 people, 15 makes for a better experience.

I have been thinking long and hard about the best way to do the ghost walk on Halloween 🎃. Honestly, I don't know what to do for the best.

The only way I can think of is if people book in households/bubbles and then those bubbles can keep 2m away from each other and me. This affects how many people I can take on the walk as pavements are narrow and you won't be able to hear me if you spread out.

I am going to have a word with the local council and see what they can recommend and if there are any additional guidelines I have not considered.

In the mean time, let me know if your bubble would like to attend and how many are in that bubble. I will try to offer first come first served but I will have to take into account the size of the group as a whole and the number of bubbles within it.

I have been using Covid-19 lockdown to rewatch some favourite TV - Ripper Street and Whitechapel.

I am no Ripperologist but I do love a good mystery and some gross and gruesome horror and, since I was a child, anything about Jack the Ripper had fed this.

Those of you who have been on the tour will know about the South Shields connection to Jack the Ripper, but many people won't.

I wonder about running a Ripper Walk on the nights of the anniversaries of the murders almost 130 years ago.

I would guide you around South Shields town centre, stopping at similar locations to the Whitechapel scenes. You will hear about the Ripper murders at each location and the connection South Shields has to this world famous mystery that has fascinated so many.

I hope all quarantine restrictions will be long over by August and the summer weather will make for a pleasant stroll.

I anticipate demand will be high for these tours as there are only 4 dates for the 5 canonical murders, but I will include 1 extra 'preview' date in mid-August that has relevance. If you are interested, comment and I will keep a list of names on a first come first served basis.
