Spirit of Guiding Narrowboat

We will be at the Moorings on the boat for Rushbearing on Saturday 6th September, 11.30-3.00pm, serving drinks and home made cakes. Come say hi, find out more about the narrowboat and Guiding in Calderdale. You'll also be helping us raise funds to keep the boat afloat.

1st Pellon Guides Rangers will be there fundraising for their international too.

A couple of Guide units (1st Pellon and St Jude's) have had an evening cruise as an end of term treat. Just a gentle cruise down to Salterhebble. As we can only have 12 people on Spirit at any time, half the unit have explored the bank while half are afloat and then switched over. 1st Pellon even did some litter picking as they walked.

1st Pellon Brownies had a lovely time on Spirit of Guiding today. Half the pack sailed from Sowerby Bridge to Salterhebble and then the other have cruised back. All completed the Canal & River Trust challenge badge on water safety.

Last call for our taster cruise on Saturday - at the moment it is looking like there won't be a sailing in the morning as no one has booked the 9.30 slot. There are a few spaces left for the afternoon

Sorry for the delay, but we now have details of our leader taster day on the Spirit of Guiding Narrowboat.

This trip is for any adult Girlguiding member in Girl Guiding West Yorkshire West who would like to experience what a trip on the Narrowboat is like.

Maybe you are thinking of bringing your girls, or a Trefoil Guild

You can choose either a morning sailing, or an afternoon sailing.

We are asking for a fee of £5 towards the cost of the event and we will make sure there is tea/coffee/juice and cake!

Saturday 18th May either 9.30 or 13.30
