Report crime or make a complaint online at https://www.lincs.police.uk/ or call 101. We reserve the right to remove comments and block you if we feel you offend, intimidate, hurt, or deliberately provoke specific people or groups of people. We welcome open debate; we welcome free speech that allows you to articulate their opinions without fear of retaliation. But we do not welcome discourse from a

nyone who does not respect and live by those same principles. We live in a society where freedom of speech is a right, but if you abuse that right you can expect to be sanctioned. If anything you post tips the balance towards hate speech – this is defined as anything public that expresses hate or encourages violence towards a person or group based on something such as race, religion, age, sex, nationality, ethnicity, disability, or sexual orientation – or that post anything that threatens, incites, or encourages hatred or violence in any way, we may record this as a crime and investigate you in the same way we would as if this had happened on the street. Be aware of what you post, be mindful of how others may receive it, and, above all, be kind to one another. Thank you. We have had a number a reports of vehicle theft in the area in recent weeks. Please be vigilant and report suspicious activity. We advise vehicle owners to:

Secure keys and use a signal blocker if you have key less entry
Use a sturdy steering wheel lock or gear stick lock
If possible use motion activated security lighting and CCTV
Install GPS tracking system
Consider having a professionally fitted immobiliser added

Some offences have been committed by breaking into homes in order to steal keys, so if you have any concerns you should consider having anti snap cylinders fitted to external doors

Update regarding yesterday's collision on the A1175 at West Deeping.

Arrests after a serious collision and a fail to stop incident

One person has been arrested after a collision at West Deeping. Two further people have been arrested after the driver of a car hit a a road closed sign.

Emergency services were called to a collision at the junction of the A1175 Stamford Road with King Street, West Deeping, just after 7.45am on Tuesday 2 June 2026.

Three vehicles were involved, a black Lexmoto motorcycle, a black Nissan NP300 and a white Volkswagen Touareg. The driver of the VW Touareg and the rider of the motorcycle were travelling in the Market Deeping direction, the Nissan NP300 was travelling towards Tallington.

The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 20s has been taken to hospital with injuries described as serious.

One of the drivers, a 28-year-old-man has been arrested on suspicion of causing injury by careless or inconsiderate driving and obstruct police, he remains in custody.

Road closures were put in place following the collision to allow medical care and to enable an investigation into the cause of the collision to start. It is vitally important that anyone needing medical care receives it as soon as possible and also that officers are able to secure and preserve evidence at the scene.

Just after midday officers saw a blue Vauxhall Astra collide with one of the road closure signs. The driver of the car, a 26-year-old woman was seen to turn their vehicle around and drive off. Officers followed and the driver failed to stop when requested to do so. The driver was forced to stop at the level crossing on Main Road, Tallington as the barriers were down due to an expected train. She has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, driving over the legal drink drive limit and theft of the car. A passenger, a 39-year-man was also arrested on suspicion of theft of the car; they remain in custody.

Anyone who has any information or recorded footage that will help with our investigation is asked to contact the Investigating Officer by email at force.control or by calling 101.

We continue to receive reports of rogue traders in our area
Fraud is a very common issue that we all have to deal with and there are a range of types of fraud used by criminals. Doorstep sellers and rogue traders are working in our communities and we advise you not to engage with sellers or contractors who come to your home unannounced.
If someone approaches your home to offer work or point out work that they believe you need to have done, then we advise you to find a reputable company who can come and give you a legitimate quote to carry out that work. Rogue traders will charge you a large amount for a small amount of work – or will complete the work to a very poor standard. A genuine company should not put you under pressure to make an immediate decision.
Always research a company that is coming to work on your property.

As we are due to have a period of hot weather, we expect to see an increase in reports of young people swimming in open water. Although this is not encouraged, we are aware that a range of ages enjoy this activity and will continue to do so, despite the dangers it presents. If you know your child goes swimming in the local open water then please make sure they know how to keep themselves safe and what to do in an emergency
• Check for hazards in the water. Remember, tides can rise and fall rapidly
• As a rule of thumb, a jump of 10 metres requires a depth of at least 5 metres
• Never jump whilst under the influence of drink or drugs
• Check for access. It may be impossible to get out of the water
• Consider the risks to yourself and others. Conditions can change rapidly
• Never jump/swim in rivers alone
• Ensure one of your party has a mobile phone to call for help if needed
