Even after eleven years of touring Scotland, we find new places to share with our guests. We had a wonderful private tour of Bowhill House followed by a tasty lunch in the courtyard cafe where John and his two guests had the place to themselves as this was not a day for public viewings! Special and fun.

When someone in the bird hide asks the Ranger "what's the bird over there?" And he peeks through the telescope before replying "It's an Osprey!" That's the time to get excited! A first for both of us and a successful breeding season at Loch of the Lowes Visitor Centre and Wildlife Reserve
Well done to all.

A fun day out to the Isle of Bute! It's only a two minute crossing from Colintraive so shortest ferry trip in all of Scotland! Tasty scallops and prawn skewers for brunch then hiked it off along Ettrick Bay. Paddle boarders and canoeists mingling with the swimmers in the shallow waters. Arran on the horizon. Bliss.

After more than two weeks of solo sailing, mostly on anchors overnight, sometimes on a mooring, and being on or next to at least nine islands, there was only one day when John needed assistance! Passing through the 15 locks of the Crinan Canal! Good fun but full focus required as the water rushed into the locks, or gently lowered the boats on the downward half.

John has visited Dunvegan Castle countless times with his tours. He'd often admired the boats bobbing in the bay. This week, after sailing north for ten days, he saw the castle for the first time from the water of Loch Dunvegan! The evening light was perfect for a picture.

John enjoys all the amazing wildlife when sailing around our beautiful islands, but this dragonfly was a surprise visitor when he moored on Loch Harport, Carbost, Isle of Skye.
