THE BARNS
Eight Dog Friendly Holiday Cottages - Six Luxury Barns and two Cottages; all sleeping two. Seven of them have Private Hot Tubs. The Barns nestle amongst the mature trees around the fishpond and waterfall to create a peaceful little environment to relax in. The two Cottages are adjacent. Each property has its own private enclosed garden area with a patio and seating for eating outside; there is also a shaded decking area overlooking the pond for when you want to watch the fish or enjoy the sunset. All set down a country lane, just outside the little Suffolk village of Stonham Aspal. The beautiful Suffolk Coast is just 30 minutes away. THE BARGES
Two Dog-friendly, historic Dutch sailing Barges, lovingly converted into moored holiday homes. Think of them as floating holiday cottages. Onderneming at Snape Maltings is enormous, and sleeps eight guests, so offers a quirky getaway for your family or friends. Twee Gebroeders on the quay at Woodbridge overlooks the iconic Tidemill, and is the perfect place for a romantic break, though she will sleep two kids too. Both of our Barges present you with the ideal location to explore the stunning Suffolk Coast, combined with a truly unique place to stay. DOGS & BIKES

The Tithe and the Tye in Suffolk: Barking’s Sacred Debt

Barking Tye was more than just a communal space; it was a central hub for the medieval tithe system under the powerful Bishops of Ely. This video explores the green as a landscape defined by economic and spiritual obligation, where the village's hard-earned harvest was measured, weighed, and collected for the church.

These videos help me spread the awareness of my holiday business Woodfarm Barns in Suffolk. It’s my private collection of romantic, self-catering, dog friendly Barns, Cottages and moored Dutch Barges in Suffolk, plus a hillside retreat in Tuscany.

I share Suffolk’s folklore, history and ghost stories to bring the county’s most exciting tales to life, spark curiosity, and give people even more reason to visit this wonderful part of the world.

For nearly two decades, my life has been about this landscape. What started as a way to build trust and engagement with my guests, has turned into a mission to share the soul of the region. By bringing these legends to the screen, I’m giving people a real connection to the land before they even arrive. It’s about more than business; it’s about making sure these stories aren't forgotten.

Trailer: The Krays and their Suffolk Sanctuary in Bildeston

The peaceful Suffolk village of Bildeston, nestled in the beautiful Brett Valley, once concealed a remarkable gangland secret.

In 1967, notorious East End gangsters Ronnie and Reggie Kray bought The Brooks, a magnificent 16th-century mansion on the outskirts of the village, along with a cottage for their mother Violet.

Having fallen in love with Suffolk after being evacuated to nearby Hadleigh during the Second World War, the twins returned as wealthy gangland bosses. While feared in London, they became known locally for their politeness, generosity and love of peaceful country living.

Their rural escape ended dramatically with their arrests in 1968, when police searched the grounds for evidence and missing victims.

Today, Bildeston looks as tranquil as ever, but its history holds an extraordinary connection to two of Britain's most infamous criminals.

Rescuing 'Brian the gravel'. There I was about to crunch over this lovely looking piece of gravel, when I thought to myself "Ere, 'ang on a minute, summink don't look right".

I successfully relocated him away from my car to continue living his best snail-life.
