Nestled above the windswept sands of Dalbeg Beach, the Beach House Gallery is a wee gem on the Isle of Lewis that’s well worth a visit.

Inside, you’ll be greeted with a warm Hebridean welcome from Lesley and Alisdair Wiseman. Their cosy gallery is filled with original paintings, prints, greeting cards, and more – all handmade and inspired by the raw beauty of the Hebridean land and sea.

It’s a lovely spot to slow down, soak in the views, and maybe find that perfect piece to take home with you - if you’re exploring the west side of Lewis, this is a must visit!

📍Horgabost Beach, Isle of Harris

Horgabost shares the same crystal clear turquoise water and pristine sands as the better known Luskentyre beach which is just around the corner, but is slightly more sheltered.

Here you will also find Traigh Horgabost Campsite - an ideal base from which to explore the island and is conveniently situated on the route of the Hebridean Way.

Here in the Hebrides, the summer solstice feels like something special. The days stretch long, the skies glow late into the night and there's a stillness in the air that makes you slow down and soak it all in.

Maybe you'll catch the last light from a hilltop or wander along a beach with the sand still warm underfoot. Some gather at the ancient Callanish Stones, where people have marked this moment for thousands of years, a place where the oast and the present meet under the open sky.

Wherever you are, we hope you get a little taste of the Hebridean magic tonight.

Looking for somewhere to grab a bite to eat in Harris? The Deli, located on Main Street, Tarbert, serves up fresh lunch specials that are perfect for a bite on the go or a relaxed meal outdoors.

Grab one of their cosy blankets and head up to the nearby hill for a picnic with a view. Let the kids’ burn off some energy in the outside play area, which has plenty of activities to keep them entertained and happy while you unwind.

There’s plenty of outdoor seating too, so you can enjoy the fresh island air, and don’t worry, your furry friends are more than welcome, with teepee tents, cushions, water bowls, and plenty of space for them to chill out in style by your side.

If you’re travelling through the Outer Hebrides, chances are you’ll pass through Eriskay and trust us, it’s worth slowing down for. With stunning views, gentle walks, and a touch of island magic, Eriskay is a place to pause and feel the soul of the Hebrides.

It might be small, but Eriskay’s full of charm. The hills slope softly to silver sands and the water changes colour with the light. This is where the S.S. Politician ran aground in 1941, spilling its whisky cargo into legend and into the hands of a few lucky islanders! The tale inspired the novel Whisky Galore!, and later two films.

And then there are the Eriskay ponies, rare, gentle, and right at home here. They wander the island like they own the place, and to be fair, they kind of do!

You’ll also discover one of the world’s most scenic football pitches right here on Eriskay. So stunning, it even featured in a Guinness advert. In fact, FIFA has named it one of the eight most remarkable places to play football anywhere in the world. On Eriskay, even a simple kickabout comes with a view you won’t forget.

Have you visited Eriskay?

Here in the Outer Hebrides, creativity flows like the tides, steady, strong, and shaped by the land we love. We’re so lucky to be surrounded by gifted artists and makers, and today we’re shining a wee light on one of our favourites, Shoreline Stoneware Pottery & Gallery, nestled on the beautiful island of North Uist.

Owned and run by the talented Louise Cook, the pottery and gallery sits in a stunning spot, with views that makes you slow down, breathe deep, and smile, and it’s no wonder it’s inspired so much beautiful work.

Louise’s connection to the landscape runs deep, her childhood was filled with adventures on her grandmother’s croft nearby, and you can feel that same sense of wonder in every hand-crafted piece she makes. Her pottery captures the textures of found objects, shells, seaweed, driftwood, sand, gathered lovingly from the shores of the Uists and Barra, and transformed into pieces that feel like they hold a bit of the island in them.

So, if you find yourself on North Uist, take a wee detour to Locheport. Step into the gallery, soak up the view, and take a piece of the islands home with you!

There’s a special kind of peace waiting for you at Two Harbours Guest House, located on the beautiful island of Scalpay, right between the island’s ‘two harbours’. Just over the bridge from Harris, it’s only a 10-minute scenic drive from Tarbert, and 30 minutes from the world-famous beaches of Luskentyre and Seilebost.

From golden sands to quiet lochside walks, you’re perfectly placed to explore the wild beauty of Harris and Lewis. And if you fancy a stroll with a view, follow the coastal path from the house and you’ll find Scalpay Lighthouse, standing proud at the edge of the Atlantic — a peaceful spot where time seems to slow down and the sea stretches forever.

This large Victorian house has been lovingly and thoughtfully renovated, offering all the modern comforts you’d hope for, while still holding onto its historic charm. And then there’s the welcome, warm and genuine, from your hosts Iain and Elizabeth.

Fancy waking up by the water, with the wild beauty of the Outer Hebrides at your doorstep? We’ll help you get there!
