A cabin has become available on our 22β30 August 'Outer Hebridean Explorer' cruise.
This 8-night voyage explores some of the most spectacular and remote islands in the Outer Hebrides, including Mingulay, Pabbay and Eriskay, with opportunities to get ashore and experience these remarkable places.
Late August is one of our favourite times to be cruising these waters. Young birds from the breeding season are dispersing, and there is the possibility of encountering both Golden and White-tailed Eagles, along with Hen Harriers, Merlin and other raptors. It's also a productive time for seabird migration, when species such as Pomarine Skua, Sooty Shearwater, Great Shearwater and the diminutive Storm and Leach's Petrels can make an appearance.
We are also still very much within the whale and dolphin season. Minke Whales, Common Dolphins, White-beaked Dolphins and Risso's Dolphins are all regularly encountered on this cruise, while Humpback Whales, Fin Whales and Orca are always exciting possibilities.
Many of you will have seen the Orcas spotted from our current cruise over the past few days. Sightings like these are never guaranteed, but they are a reminder of the rich wildlife that makes the Sea of the Hebrides such a special place to explore.
