We’re celebrating one of the ocean’s most iconic travellers by spotlighting 3 unforgettable places in Latin America to witness sea turtles nesting, hatching, and swimming in the wild. 🏝️💚

Tortuguero, Costa Rica 🇨🇷
Tortuguero National Park is one of the most important green sea turtle nesting sites in the world.
🐢 Nesting season: July to October (peak in August and September). Females come ashore at night to dig nests and lay their eggs — a quiet, awe-inspiring ritual. This is best done on a pre booked guided tour.
🐢 Hatching season: September to November. Just 45–60 days after nesting, baby turtles emerge and make a dash for the sea — often at sunset or early morning. Watching this moment is pure magic yet unpredictable so it really is about being in the right place, at the right time. 🌅✨

Playa La Flor, Nicaragua 🇳🇮
A hidden gem in a protected wildlife refuge, Playa La Flor hosts mass arrivals of Olive Ridley turtles during arribadas from August to January. Thousands of turtles typically nest over just a few nights — and weeks later, hatchlings appear by the hundreds. 🌊🐢
