Cheapest doesn’t always mean best value… and recent travel disruption has proved that more than ever. ✈️

Over the past few weeks, I’ve seen two very different experiences from travellers affected by the Middle East flight disruptions — and the biggest difference came down to how they booked.

One client had booked a fully ABTA & ATOL protected package holiday with me — a luxury all-inclusive trip to the Maldives with flights via Doha.

When their return flight was cancelled, the situation changed instantly… but because everything was properly protected, they were completely looked after.

Their 5-star resort extended their stay for an extra FIVE nights while alternative flights home were arranged — all covered.

No panic.
No huge unexpected costs.
No hours spent trying to sort things alone.

Just support, protection, and someone there to help when it mattered most. 💙

At the same time, another traveller had booked “cheap” flights online for a family trip to New Zealand, with accommodation booked separately.

When their flight was cancelled, they were left stranded for 9 days waiting for replacement flights — while paying thousands in extra accommodation and expenses themselves.

And if they’d chosen a refund instead? They were told it could take up to 10 days to receive the money back… while flight prices kept climbing daily.

This is exactly why I always say:

Don’t just look at the upfront price when booking travel.

Look at the protection.
Look at the support.
Look at what happens if things go wrong.

Because when you book an ABTA & ATOL protected package holiday with me, you’re not just booking a holiday…

You’re booking expert advice, financial protection, and real human support before, during, and after your trip. 🌍✈️

I think there are two very different types of travellers… ✈️🌴

The ones who want:
🍹 Easy all-inclusive
☀️ Familiar resorts
🏖 Minimal travelling
📍 Somewhere predictable and relaxing

…and the ones who secretly LOVE the idea of:
⛴ Boat transfers
🌴 Remote islands
🦎 Wildlife & nature
✨ Places that still feel undiscovered
📸 Adventures that don’t feel “touristy”

The more I look into places like Palawan in the Philippines, the more I realise how differently people travel.

Some people would think:
“That sounds exhausting!”

Others would think:
“That sounds magical.” 💚

And honestly? Neither is wrong.

I think travel is becoming much more about personality now than simply “luxury” or “budget”.

So which type are YOU?

Team:
🍹 Easy & relaxing
OR
🌴 Adventure & discover

“Could YOU actually do Palawan?”

I keep getting messages saying……
“Palawan looks AMAZING but is it difficult?”
“Is it safe?”
“Is it expensive?”
“Would I cope with all the travelling?”

Honestly? That’s exactly what I wondered myself before I started researching it properly too✈️ 🌴

What surprised me most is that Palawan can work for:
💙 Solo travellers
💙 Couples
💙 Adventure lovers
💙 People wanting a slower, more peaceful trip
💙 Luxury travellers OR backpackers style budget!

You can do:
✨ Island hopping
✨ Stunning beaches
✨ Boutique hotels
✨ Wildlife & nature
✨ Snorkelling in crystal clear water
✨ Quiet sunsets away from crowds

And yes……there ARE things to know beforehand too:
🌡️ Heat & humidity
🦟 Mosquitoes/sandflies in some areas
⛴️ Boat transfers between islands
🌊 Some sea crossings can be rough depending on the weather

BUT for many people that’s all part of the adventure! 🤍

I’m seriously considering putting together some sample itineraries because the more I research Palawan…..the more magical it looks.

Would YOU do Palawan?
Or is it a bit too adventurous for you?

There’s a lot of scaremongering out there in the press and on social media about the troubles that the war in Iran are causing.
Flights being cancelled, planes/airlines running out of fuel etc etc
This is to say that most of what you hear has been blown out of proportion and is largely not true!

So if you were thinking twice about travelling in the coming months……don’t! Carry on as normal, book that holiday to your dream destination, live your life and as long as you book through someone reputable (travel agent, supplier or someone like myself) take out the correct insurance etc then you will be protected and have nothing to lose.

So what are you waiting for?!

Happy Sunday everyone!

I would like to gauge interest on a possible cruise that I’m thinking of organising depending on numbers etc.

So this cruise would take place 10th April 2027 from Palm Beach, Florida arriving in Lisbon 24th April.
Just one stop in the Azores BUT have chosen this trip for a particular reason…….
The reason or them for this trip is that is all about detox, health, calm, relax, rest, mindfulness, exercise, yoga, tai chi, gym…..to reset and recharge your mind, body and soul.
First week will be all about the detox…..a week of clean fresh green juices (think Jason Vale style)
Then week two will be eating simple but wonderfully clean & healthy luxurious food to nourish your soul.

You will be on a luxury ship with a maximum of 112 passengers in 56 cabins so it will at times feel like you are on your own private yacht! The vibe will be very relaxed though…..not a ballgown in sight 🤣

It will be part of a package which will include one way flight to Palm Beach, pre night in a hotel near port, 14 nights all inclusive on the cruise, 1 night in Lisbon and the flight home back to London. Inc transfers.

If you would like to log interest please comment below or contact me…..no commitment.

Does anybody else get the blues once you have been home a while after an epic holiday…..especially if it was somewhere hot & sunny?
Yep….that’s been me last 3 weeks especially as the weather here in Dorset has been wet, windy and miserable! Luckily no frosts yet but am sure we’ll get them by end of the month!
I am sooooo missing the Bali weather (Singapore too hot & humid for me!) It was perfect as long as I kept out of it at midday for a couple of hours. Got a nice safe tan too!

Anyway I will be doing a few posts in next week or so reviewing the 4 accommodations we stayed in so keep your 👀 out

In the meantime if you have the winter blues now’s a great time to plan your winter getaway!
Lots of great places that are still lovely and warm in Nov/Dec.
Last week I booked an Alaskan cruise/tour for friends for next summer along with flights & hotels as part of the package…..I was well jealous as sounds amazing!
Today I’m trying to get quotes out for an Easter break for a couple….looking for hot weather so will be doing quotes from Tenerife, Dubai, Sharm el Sheik and a Caribbean cruise!
Which one takes your fancy?
