After plenty of trips, a few mistakes, and some lessons learned the fun way… these are travel habits I genuinely swear by.

1. Switch to destination time immediately
If I’m flying somewhere and it’ll be nighttime when I land, I act accordingly. Stay awake if needed, sleep if it makes sense, and get your body clock moving early. It really helps beat jet lag.

2. Noise-cancelling headphones are worth every penny
Planes are full of noises you can’t control. Engines, chatter, and yes… occasionally a baby finding its voice. Babies can’t help it. But you can help whether you hear it.

3. Always have your arrival sorted
Transfers booked, hotel confirmed, know where you’re going. Tired, jet-lagged you arriving somewhere new at 10pm will be very grateful to organised earlier you.

4. Don’t overpack your itinerary
Leave space for discovery. Some of the best moments happen unexpectedly. I ended up doing Rainbow Mountain in Peru on a whim because plans changed, and it became one of the highlights of the whole trip.

5. Do one thing you’ll remember forever
Not every day needs to be packed, but every trip should have one standout moment. A safari, a private boat trip, a special meal, a helicopter ride, something that becomes the story you tell afterwards.

Travel should be exciting, not exhausting.

What travel habit do you swear by?

Laos is often treated as the quieter neighbour, the place people add on when visiting Vietnam or Cambodia. But the truth is, Laos deserves your time. This is a country that’s best experienced slowly, where the real magic comes from not rushing through it.

It’s peaceful, laid-back, and deeply atmospheric. Think golden temples, riverside towns, jungle-covered mountains, and that feeling of stepping into a rhythm that’s completely different from everyday life. While it works beautifully as part of a wider Southeast Asia trip, it also stands confidently on its own, whether that’s a week of discovery or a longer, more immersive journey.

And with improved transport links, including the new high-speed rail connection through the country, Laos is becoming easier to explore while still holding onto its charm.

Highlights in Laos:
• Wander the UNESCO-listed town of Luang Prabang, with its temples and river views.
• Take a boat along the Mekong River, stopping at villages and caves.
• Visit waterfalls like Kuang Si, with bright turquoise pools.
• Experience the morning alms-giving ceremony with local monks.
• Explore Vang Vieng’s dramatic karst landscapes and outdoor adventures.

When to Go:
November to March is the best time, with dry weather and comfortable temperatures for exploring.

Whether you choose to combine Laos with its neighbours or give it the time it deserves on its own, I can help you plan a journey that’s unhurried, immersive, and full of those quieter, unforgettable moments.

The Philippines has always struck me as one of the world’s great island adventures. With more than 7,000 islands, crystal-clear waters and so much variety, it feels made for exploring.

Hidden lagoons, jungle-clad islands, Chocolate Hills and some of the best beaches on earth… this is how to explore the Philippines properly.

Explore the Philippines: Islands, Adventure & Tropical Beauty

The Philippines is one of Southeast Asia’s most rewarding destinations. It blends paradise beaches, colourful marine life, dramatic landscapes and warm hospitality into one incredible journey. If you love variety, this is a country that keeps delivering.

Begin in Manila or Cebu City, then head straight into the islands where the real magic begins.

First stop could be Palawan, often named one of the most beautiful islands in the world. Base yourself in El Nido or Coron, where towering limestone cliffs rise from turquoise waters. Spend your days island-hopping through secret lagoons, kayaking into hidden coves, snorkelling coral reefs and discovering beaches only reachable by boat.

Then continue to Bohol, home to the famous Chocolate Hills. These unique rolling mounds turn brown in the dry season, creating one of the country’s most iconic landscapes. While here, cruise jungle rivers, spot tiny tarsiers, and enjoy laid-back coastal resorts.

Next, head to Boracay for powder-soft white sand and spectacular sunsets. This is where barefoot luxury meets lively beach atmosphere, with watersports, sailing trips and beachfront dining all part of the experience.

This is just one example of how the Philippines can be explored. I can tailor everything around you, whether you’d like more luxury, more adventure, honeymoon touches, diving experiences or the perfect island-hopping route.

Terms & Conditions: Example itinerary shown for inspiration. Routes, accommodation and experiences can be tailored to suit your preferences and are subject to availability. Travel insurance available on request.

The Philippines is made up of over 7,000 islands, and that’s exactly why it needs to be planned properly.

From the limestone cliffs of Palawan to the beaches of Boracay and the diving spots of Cebu, each area offers something completely different. The key isn’t trying to see everything, it’s choosing the right combination and making the logistics work smoothly.

I help my clients narrow it down and build a trip that feels effortless, balanced, and genuinely special.

When people hear the word cruise, they often picture one thing, a huge ship in the Caribbean with waterslides, casinos, theatres and enough restaurants to keep you busy for a month.

And yes… those cruises absolutely exist.

But cruising is one of the most misunderstood styles of travel, because the truth is this:

There really is a cruise out there for almost everyone.
It’s just about finding the right one for you!

For some people, that might be a big ocean ship with endless entertainment, spa days, pool decks and multiple destinations in one trip. Think Caribbean sunshine, Mediterranean island hopping or Alaska’s epic scenery.

For others, it’s something far more intimate, a river cruise gliding through Europe’s great cities, along the Danube or Rhine, or something more adventurous like the Nile, Mekong or even the Amazon. Smaller ships, beautiful scenery, and a wonderfully relaxed pace.

Then you’ve got expedition cruising, a totally different world again. Think Antarctica, the Arctic, the Galápagos or remote coastlines where the destination is the real star. Wildlife, nature and proper bucket-list experiences.

And if you don’t love flying? There are cruises from Southampton too, where your holiday starts the moment you step onboard.

Cruising also comes in all styles and budgets:

• family-friendly and fun
• adults-only and stylish
• ultra-luxury and all-inclusive
• small ship and boutique
• adventure-led and off-grid

Whether it’s river cruising with AmaWaterways or Uniworld Boutique River Cruises, expedition voyages with Quark Expeditions or Silversea Cruises, or ocean cruising with Celebrity Cruises or Virgin Voyages, and many others, the options are huge.

That’s why working with someone like me helps.
My job is to match your personality to the right ship, route and experience, because the wrong cruise can feel wrong… but the right cruise can feel amazing!

So tell me, have you ever considered a cruise, or do you think it’s not for you?

The Philippines is a destination I’m seeing more and more interest in and honestly, it’s easy to understand why. With over 7,000 islands, it’s packed with incredible beaches, crystal-clear water, and that feeling of discovering somewhere a little less travelled.

It’s not the kind of place you go to stay in just one spot. The real magic of the Philippines comes from exploring, hopping between islands, experiencing different landscapes, and seeing just how varied it can be. I’ve had honeymoon clients spend three weeks here, travelling between regions and absolutely loving every minute of it. It does take a bit more planning, but that’s all part of the experience, and where I come in.

Highlights in the Philippines:
• Island-hop through El Nido and Palawan, with lagoons and hidden beaches.
• Relax on the white sands of Boracay or discover quieter, lesser-known islands.
• Snorkel and dive in some of the clearest waters in the world.
• See incredible wildlife, from marine life to unique island ecosystems.
• Stay in beautiful beachfront resorts that balance comfort with natural surroundings.

When to Go:
December to May is generally the best time to visit, with dry, sunny weather across many of the islands.

Whether you’re planning a honeymoon, a big adventure, or a once-in-a-lifetime island escape, I can help you piece together a Philippines itinerary that flows beautifully, making the logistics seamless, so you can just enjoy the journey.
