Check it out to find out what's going on in the area this month, about our new town Mayor, our good bathing river status, tips for Father's Day shopping and where we ranked on Expedia's Unpack26 Summer Destinations.

What a scorcher of a May we had! It was perfect timing for the river swimming season to start on the 15th. The River Stour gained a lot of attention after being named the only one out of fourteen rivers tested to be given a "good" designated bathing status. The full BBC article can be found here. If...

This Saturday, Javelin celebrate their relaunch and are inviting you to join them.

Pop along for goodie bags, drinks from Toast and Brownies from Bwonies (all whilst stocks last) and peruse their beautiful Spring/Summer collection and homeware whilst you are there.

Grab some cooling cotton items and sunglasses for the heat wave and the perfect outfit for your BBQ's and summer days out.

Javelin is open 9:30-17:30 Tuesday-Saturday.

Happy Birthday to Sudbury's famous son, Thomas Gainsborough - one year until the big 300!

Why not celebrate with him this week and take a trip to Gainsborough's House, walk the Gainsborough trail taking in scenic Sudbury and soak in the inspiration for Gainsborough's art or pop along to Market Hill (treat yourself and do it on a Sudbury Market day) and see the man himself, albeit in statue form, looking over his home town.

For more information on walks, Sudbury history and places to visit, pop into Sudbury Tourist Information Centre on Gaol Lane.

Happy Birthday, Mr Gainsborough!
