Agadir & Taghazout update for today and the next 5 days:

Agadir is cloudy for the early part today but set for a warm, sunny start to the first week of June, with daytime highs roughly in the 27°C to 31°C range and mild evenings around 18°C to 21°C. June is one of the better months for outdoor plans here, with plenty of sunshine, low rainfall, and a good breeze that helps keep the coast comfortable.

Taghazout outlook:

Taghazout is also cloudy this morning but looking good for beach time, surfing, and sunset walks, with warm conditions and the sort of Atlantic wind that makes it a favourite for surfers. If you’re heading out, mornings and late afternoons are the best times for outdoor activities, while midday sun will be strong.

Useful tourist info:

A few of the most interesting spots for visitors are Paradise Valley, Agadir Oufella Kasbah, Souk El Had, the marina, Crocopark, and Taghazout Bay. For something more local, a hammam, a Moroccan meal by the sea, or a day trip inland are all good options.

Taxi tip for Agadir:

Red taxis are the easiest option for getting around the city. It’s best to ask for the meter to be used or agree the fare before you set off if the meter isn’t used, and for longer trips or airport runs, booking through a hotel or a trusted provider can save hassle. Do note that prices rise in the red cans after sunset. You can use an app called indrive for which you need to be discreet as it's unlicenced and Uber is also available but as it's brand new there are currently few drivers.

Money update:

The current exchange rate is about 1 MAD = £0.081 and 1 GBP = about 12.48 MAD. You won't get that in the money exchange shops but you should not settle for less than 12 MAD per £1.

Extra travel tip.

Pack sunscreen, sunglasses, a light layer for evenings, and plenty of water. If you’re planning sightseeing, the earlier part of the day is best as you get some sea mist and you will avoid the stronger sun which usually peaks about 4pm. Be careful as you will still burn even when it appears overcast.

Agadir & Taghazout update:

Agadir is hot and sunny right now, with temperatures potentially reaching 39°C today and very warm conditions continuing over the next few days. It’s a proper summer-feel week, so beach time, pool time, and early-morning sightseeing are the best bets, while midday heat will be strong.

Taghazout outlook:

Taghazout is also looking warm and good for coastal plans, with clear skies, light to moderate winds, and surf-friendly conditions. It’s a great week for the beach, surf, and sunset walks, but the heat and sun will be intense, so plan outdoor activities early or later in the day.

Tourist tips:

A useful local travel tip for Agadir:

Use the red petit taxis for city trips before sundown and make sure the meter is on, or agree the fare before you start if it isn’t. Petit taxis are the small city taxis, while grand taxis are used more for longer trips and are usually arranged from taxi ranks, hotels, or the airport. Indrive is also an option, however these are not official so do be discreet if you choose to use them. Uber has just been rolled out but doesn't have many drivers yes so maybe it's not so easy to use at the moment.

Interesting things for visitors:

Tourists often enjoy Paradise Valley. It's a beautiful palm tree laden valley oasis. You need to be physically able to walk it and we advise you wear some old comfortable shoes.

Money update:

The Moroccan dirham is still roughly 1 MAD = £0.08, so 100 MAD is roughly about £8.00.

Simple travel advice:

Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, plenty of water, and a light layer for evenings. In this heat, it’s better to do market visits, sightseeing, and walking early in the morning or after sunset.

Agadir & Taghazout update for the next 5 days:

Agadir outlook:

Agadir is looking warm and mostly sunny, with highs around 27°C to 31°C and mild nights around 13°C to 21°C. The latest forecast shows a bright start to the period, with a very warm midweek stretch and only light breeze, so it’s a good time for beach days, city walks, and outdoor cafés.

Taghazout outlook:

Taghazout is also looking ideal, with warm weather, plenty of sunshine, and the sort of Atlantic breeze that makes the surf scene so popular. It’s still one of the best spots for surfing in spring, and the climate is mild enough for beach time, sunset walks, and relaxed outdoor plans. Restaurants and bars are extremely busy.

Money update:

The Moroccan dirham is currently around 1 MAD = £0.08, which means 1 GBP = about 12.5 MAD. As a simple guide, 100 MAD is about £8.00 to £8.12 depending on the converter used.

Travel tip:

If you’re visiting this week, bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a light jacket for the evening, and comfortable shoes for sightseeing. The weather is excellent, but the strong sun and Atlantic breeze mean it can feel cooler near the coast than inland.
