Event Manager Role– Create Amazing Experiences!

About The Events Raccoon:
We're a dynamic and growing company passionate about creating unforgettable experiences for our clients.
We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Event Manager to join our team and help us continue to deliver exceptional events both in the UK and worldwide. Reporting to the Chief Amazement Officer, you'll play
a key role in ensuring our events are flawlessly executed, client satisfaction is maximised, and the business continues to thrive.

About the Role:
As one of our Event Managers, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of a variety of corporate events, from initial brief to flawless on-site ex*****on. You'll be the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their vision is brought to life seamlessly. This role requires a strong understanding of event logistics, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities:
• Manage events from concept to completion, ensuring flawless ex*****on
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients throughout the event planning process
• Develop detailed event programs, timelines, and budgets
• Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with key suppliers
• Oversee the delegate registration process and manage delegate logistics
• Provide project-based leadership and guidance to an Event Executive
• Deliver exceptional events on-site, both domestically and internationally
• Manage and reconcile event budgets, ensuring profitability and ROI

Essential Skills and Experience:
• Proven track record in venue finding, event management - demonstrating successful planning and flawless ex*****on
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Exceptional organisational and planning abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in securing the best possible prices from suppliers
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable with Mac systems
• Strong numeracy skills and experience in budget management
• Ability to build and maintain strong client and supplier relationships
• A proactive, can-do attitude with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain a positive attitude and sense of humour throughout
• Experience of navigating routes through large and small corporate structures to identify, establish and nurture new client relationships
• Flexibility to travel, including international travel, and work outside of standard business hours as needed

Desirable Skills and Experience:
• Experience with CRM databases
• Knowledge of general marketing and business development principles
• Understanding of national and global geography
• A desire to support our sustainable events policy

Event Manager – Full time

Key Objectives and Purpose:
To support and work closely with the Chief Amazement Officer to ensure the business is supported in all areas and to ensure it continues to be efficient, popular with its clients, maintains growth and profitability.

ROLE
Reporting to the Chief Amazement Officer, this Event Manager will see you taking on the day-to-day responsibility of a range of corporate events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Managing events from brief to delivery.
• Maintaining client communication throughout each project.
• Developing event programmes and managing timelines.
• Contracting and negotiating with key suppliers.
• Managing relationships with suppliers such as venues, DMCs, caterers, AV suppliers, etc.
• Ensuring smooth delegate registration process including delegate logistics.
• Overseeing an Event Executive in a project basis.
• Delivering projects onsite and internationally.
• Managing and reconciling event budgets.
• Being accountable for each event ROI.
• Using your strong questioning and listening skills to deeply understand client needs, spot opportunities and close deals.

• Knowledge of a CRM data base is preferred but not essential.
• A consultative, open approach, and experience in new business generation.
• Experience of navigating your way through large and small corporate structures to establish and nurture new client relationships.
• A good understanding of general marketing and business development principals.
• Strong numeracy skills and proven ability to manage budgets, identify savings and provide value for money.
• Exceptionally strong communication, presentation, negotiation, writing and closing skills.

Weeks Hours and Benefits

- 3 day build & hospitality at Goodwood Revival ….including 17 bottles of hair spray & 20 1950’s hair appointments

“How big it too big??”

I’m pleased to say at The Events Raccoon Ltd we haven’t found that out yet but we are still bouncing from the epic event we smashed last week for The Access Group across the globe 🌎 🙌🏻 🎉

The week was INSANE with a live event in the UK, Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and Romania as well as streaming further across the globe 🌎 In total over 4,000 employees joined for some epic content & speakers 🙌🏻

We were also joined by:

🔹Joe Wicks for Q&A & a PT session 💪🏼
🔹Baroness Karren Brady who shared her journey to success 🤩
🔹Katie Piper who shared her outstandingly brave storey ❤️

AS IF THAT WASN’T ENOUGH…….

Friday saw us delivering the Acces Festival “Making it Happen Live” with the JAXX, RPJ Band with Rick Parfitt Jnr, BASTILLE and DJ Scott Mills 🎤 🤘🏼🎉

Camping, Funfair rides, stilt walkers, well-being tents, fire breathers, food stalls, bars, photo booths, a DJ in a campervan, glitter usherettes……WOW!🏕🎡🍜🍻🔥✨📸🥳

Thank you to my ‘work husband’ Chris Northcote for delivering this event with me but most of all thank you to my ‘work family’ (AKA clients) for trusting us with the event and being the BEST team to work with year after year!! What a 5 years it’s been!!

I’ve learnt so much & still have a hell of a lot to learn but my biggest 5 takeaways from the last 5 years I’d like to share with you are;

❤️ When you chose to work with a small business, a small business owner does the biggest happy dance you’ve ever seen - True Story.

🙏🏼 Learn as much as you can and share everything you know. Many people will do what you do, no one will do it they way you do it.

😘 Kindness costs nothing. There will always be people that will get through life driven by what they can get from you. It is not your job to judge them, simply to make sure you do not become them.

🌎 You can plan for us much as possible but every now & again, someone will throw a global pandemic in your way just to make sure you are keeping it real.

💃🏼 If you’re not enjoying the road trip, you’re in the wrong car. Love. Laugh. Learn. Evolve. Breath.

Thank you to EVERYONE who has been a part of the last 5 years, whether you have worked for us, been a client of ours, a partner of ours, a friend or family member, a kind stranger who has picked us up when on the floor in a million pieces, a mentor, a coach or just one of those legendary people that takes the time to smile back at someone who smiled at you.

A live event….A real life live event….Oh yes we did!!!!

Last week we delivered a week long, hybrid event to over 3,000 employees across 9 countries.

- Each day started with HiiT or Yoga 🧘🏼‍♀️

- The week delivered 47 content sessions 🧠

- 6 product demos 🔧

- Guest appearances from MICHAEL JOHNSON and RUBY WAX 🤩

- Evening entertainment including Dino Girl 🦕 & a posh pub quiz 🍺

- All wrapped up with a virtual DJ & secret after party

We were able to kick off the week & close the week with a live audience socially distanced & it felt amazing 🙌🏻 🙌🏻
