Surprise and delight. The Ankole cattle herd belonging to Kenya’s ex president Uhuru Kenyatta was not something our guests thought they would enjoy as much as they did and they really did. By African standards this herd would be considered priceless so we loved getting to explain the complex relationship between Africans and their cattle while staying . Such a special experience.

The exquisite leopards Jawai leopard camp and their intricate symbiotic relationship with the local Rabari people and the environment made up of ancient granite insleberg outcrops is something to behold and admire.
On top of that the fact that you are able to experience them from one of the most stunning safari camps in the world (I would know) is such an added bonus. Owners and friends and have left no stone unturned in creating this spectacle in the heart of Rajasthan.
If seeing is believing then you really should see this place.
We have seen three different leopards on our first day. Just WOW.

Bhutans Gangtay valley never fails to amaze us and to connect us on a deeply spiritual level to this incredible country. Traditional Bhutanese hot stone baths, evening prayers at the local monastery, gorgeous hikes and even a little time spent with a lovely old gentleman who offered 3 yaks for one of my guests as a wife two years ago 😂 time here goes slowly and yet we still remember each other. Pure bliss.

Tiger’s nest temple is a spectacle that all avid adventure travellers should experience at least once in their lifetime. It’s an architectural and spiritual marvel that will take your breath away. Literally and figuratively. It’s high up perched precariously on a cliff face overlooking the Paro valley. As is often the case we chose to approach it in a completely different way taking helicopters to Bomdra at 12000 ft and then walking down. We got to stop along the way at many equally beautiful temples that most people don’t even know exist and even enjoyed a picnic looking down on the temple.

I love watching the faces of my guests when they first lay eyes on this marvel. It’s so spectacular.

Tshechu festival in Paro, Bhutan is a feast for the eyes and the soul. The locals in their finery. The dancing and the music. Happy faces wherever you look. Sun shining and cool, clean mountain air.
