The Shiant Isles - Monday 28th July, 9.30 - 3.30

This is one of our last trips to the Shiants before the birds begin to depart. Angus reports from this week's trips that they are still abundant and if you would like to see these engaging little birds we can take you ashore at two spots where they can be observed safely.
Our vessel 'Harmony' is a custom built twin hulled cabin cruiser with lots of deck space to take photographs or sit and enjoy the fresh air comfortably. There is also interior seating and, in line with best health and safety practice for a day trip, an onboard WC.
Freshly prepared tea or coffee, home baked cakes and a little tipple on the way home are all part of the welcome.

A day at the Isle of Scarp and Loch Reasort,
Thursday 3rd July.

Wow, almost July and we have two very special trips scheduled for next week. The first is a trip to the beautiful island of Scarp situated west of North Harris. A full day tour that will take you to the less visited areas of Harris with dramatic scenery, the remains of remote crofting townships and , weather permitting, one of the most perfect wee beaches you will ever see.

The Shiant Isles - May and June 2025

We have been having a wonderful time on our Shiant Isles Trips this season with some superb sightings of wildlife below and above the waves. Over the years we have got to know some great spots to see the full variety of species, to the delight of our passengers. John Speirs was with us in May sent us these pictures which are great examples of what can be seen through the lens on a trip.
With relaxed time ashore, guidance and commentary from Angus at the wheel of the Harmony and Fred and Archie on hand to assist our passengers, it makes for a great day out in nature. We love it all.

Preparations are underway for our 2025 season with our first Shiant Isles trip scheduled for the 1st of May.

We have kept the price of our trips the same as for the last few years and these are excellent value. Our 'Harmony' has plenty of deck space for viewing the coastline and wildlife, an onboard toilet and an enclosed cabin with plenty of space for our passengers to enjoy the trip.

Whilst at the wheel, Angus has a great eye for spotting eagles and dolphins, helping you to relax and take it all in.

Our second trip has just one place left so we have a feeling that this is going to be a busy and enjoyable season. Can't wait!

Happy New Year and here's to adventures to come in 2025!

In 2024 we had a different year where we ran private charters working to passengers' bespoke itineraries. It was an enjoyable season and it was good to reset. Private charters are still available and we have a number booked in already for the season.
We have added some further trips to our website, available to book by individuals, groups of friends and family.

A Round Harris Odyssey will take you along the coastline of West Harris and with some time ashore at Taransay before the cruise south past the magnificent beaches of West Harris, then back north past coastal villages of the Bays of Harris. A wonderful way to see Harris from sea level. A different perspective.

Our trip to Scarp and Loch Reasort, pictured, is a for those with an interest in wildlife, absolute peace, remoteness and cultural insight. It is a different trip and very special.

Comfort and safety in our accessible motor cruiser with enclosed cabin, plenty of outdoor seating and an onboard W.C, coffee, tea and fresh home baked goodies on each trip, and a nice dram on the way back in to end the day.

Looking Forward to 2025

We have been enjoying the pleasant weather this week and thinking ahead to next season.
Quite a few dates have been reserved as private charters and we have added the first tranche of trips available to book to our website, all to the beautiful Shiant Isles.

This popular destination is a perfect day long trip with a wonderful blend of outstanding scenery, wildlife and cultural interest. If you haven't been yet, give it some consideration.

Prices have been held at £110 per person with a reduction for young ones to £70.
