We 😻 Namibia! ♥️Just on our way back home via Johannesburg reminiscing about our journey to Namibia - what an extraordinary journey flying and staying at some of the most remote and wild places in the country. The wildlife has been surprising - desert adapted to survive the harsh and arid environments and conditions. Our journey took us to the red dunes of Sossusvlei, up to Damaraland, across to the Skeleton Coast, wild black rhino trekking, and on to Etosha Nation Park 😻

Flying south bought us to Desert Rhino Camp - located in the private Palmwag Concession in northern Damaraland known for its arid-adapted wildlife - and the largest free-roaming black rhino population in Africa. with a backdrop of rocky hills, plains, and volcanic landscapes - drives out into the desert to find the rhinos were a real highlight 🦏 🤩

Another two light aircraft hops took us to Hoanib Skeleton Coast - perched scenically in a granite valley close to the ephemeral Hoanib River in Kaokoland, northwest Namibia. Brilliant for experiencing both the desert adapted wildlife and the Skeleton Coast - we were very lucky to encounter the charismatic desert adapted Opie - one of just 7 desert adapted lions in the area 😸

Remote with stunning geological formations, golden grasses swaying in the breeze, and sundowners overlooking everlasting vistas!

Highlights are the surreal landscapes, walking through Dead Vlei, exploring underground canyons, and of course conquering the towering red sand dunes 😎
