Thinking ahead to glorious spring and summer days (come on the sun!!) and memories here of a visit to a local family run cafe The Rocking Horse. Yummy lunches, coffee and cake in the very pretty (and beautifully kept) gardens. There’s also lots of indoor space for those drizzly days. Highly recommended!

Beautiful heather on the Quantock hills this afternoon. The silver lining to the damp summer - a stunning tapestry of colour stretching down to the English Channel. We have one week in September still available, email [email protected] for more info.

Spring has officially arrived. The daffodils are in full bloom, the lambs are frolicking in the nearbye fields and Brucie has had his first BBQ! A fabulous few days at Town End Farm Cottages. We popped into the excellent Foxy Bean at Adscombe for coffee and cake before a a magical walk in the Great Wood. We enjoyed 360 views from the Quantocks and had a great lunch at the Hood Arms in Kilve. We also hit up Hollywood Bowl in Taunton for a ferociously competitive game! All these great places are within a 20 minute drive of Town End Farm Cottages.

Beautiful autumnal day on the Quantock hills - just a 5 minute drive from Town End Farm cottages. We walked to Hurley Beacon (1,161 feet) where you can see Somerset in all its green glory below you. We then stopped in at Crowcombe’s character-full and extremely dog friendly pub - the historic Carew Arms (5 minute walk from the cottages) for a local pint and a furious game of skittles!

Stunning spring day here in Crowcombe and our new little pup is loving jumping in and out of the daffodils. Dogs are very welcome at Town End Farm cottages for no extra charge and our little four legged friend thinks it’s a canine paradise!

We are delighted to be supporting Holt Pre-school Wiltshire where Bruce's granddaughter attends. It is an amazing non-profit pre-school with wonderful staff but in desperate need of repair. To help them raise funds for a new building we have offered a 3 night stay in the Old Bakery from November 2020 - February 2021 (excluding school holidays) in their fantastic Auction of Promises which contains 100 lots of fabulous prizes. Spring has arrived at Town End Farm Cottages and we are delighted to be opening up in April as per Government guidelines. The Old Bakery still has a few weeks available due to people having to cancel from overseas or friends not being able to mix.

Blustery walk to Hurley Beacon, taking in the lovely autumnal colours along the way. The car park for this walk is just over a mile’s drive from Town End Farm Cottages. On a clear day you will enjoy stunning views across the Bristol Channel and surrounding valleys.

We are loving this sunny weather! An hour and a half’s drive from Town End Farm cottages are the beautiful sandy beaches of Putsborough and Woolacombe in North Devon. Great for kite flying, surfing, body boarding and sandcastle making- or just relaxing in the sun.
On the picturesque drive back across Exmoor National Park why not have a pit stop at the gorgeous village of Exford. The White Horse there does great pub grub and you can bask in the evening sunshine by the river Exe which winds through the village. Simply the perfect day!
