Last week we took a mini break to Edinburgh, usually we would go by train, but this time the flights were much cheaper so we gave that a go. Flying Birmingham to Edinburgh was so straight forward and we would do it again in a heartbeat! This is what we learned about the airport from our mini trip.

This was new for us as we haven't paid for fast track previously, however we will in future, absolute game changer! There were lots of queues at the airport, but with the fast track we were able to breeze past most of them making it so much smoother

Birmingham airport are part of the new government trial for hand luggage. Liquids still need to be under 100mls but they can now stay in your hand luggage along with electrical items, so no need to take out half of your items (hair straighteners/curlers, ipads, kindles etc can all stay put. Again, so much quicker!

To park at Birmingham Airport was around ยฃ71 for overnight parking, however, we chose to use ShortRun by Airparks which was ยฃ43.99, it's open and manned 24/7, with shuttle buses running every 5 mins round the clock, dropping off directly at the terminal.
The actual flight time was around 50 mins....it took us longer to get from our house to the airport ๐คฃ
