🇪🇬 Three nights in Cairo, with some of the world’s most remarkable history on our doorstep.

Our Egypt adventure begins in a city where ancient history and everyday life sit side by side. We’re looking forward to exploring the Giza Plateau with an Egyptologist, standing before the Great Pyramids and seeing the Sphinx for ourselves.

Another highlight will be visiting the Grand Egyptian Museum, before taking in the sights and sounds of Khan el Khalili bazaar. We’re already imagining the colourful stalls, the bustle and all those little details we’ll want to capture.

There are optional experiences to make the time in Cairo even more special too, including a visit to Saqqara and Memphis, home to some of Egypt’s earliest pyramids, or a tour of historic Coptic Cairo.

Cairo is just the beginning of our journey, but what a beginning it promises to be. We can’t wait to share the sights, stories and moments with you as our adventure unfolds.

🏴 A week among Scotland’s islands, with the wildlife and scenery close at hand.

On Hebridean Princess, the day might begin with breakfast as the ship glides into a sea loch, then continue ashore by small boat with local guides. With space for up to 48 guests, the experience is personal and unhurried: more like joining a small group of fellow travellers than setting out with a crowd.

A published example is the seven-night Western Isles Wildlife Expedition with Andy Bunten, sailing from Oban and back May 2027. The route includes Rum, the Uists, the Shiant Isles, Handa Island, Plockton, Lunga and Mull. Depending on the day, you could look for red deer, watch seabirds on cliff faces, take a seal boat trip or search for eagles on Mull.

This is a very different style from a conventional large cruise ship. The focus is on island landings, wildlife and local knowledge, with a country-house atmosphere on board. The fare includes meals, a selection of drinks, shore visits, gratuities and transfers, so many of the details are taken care of.

For anyone drawn to Scotland’s wild coast and a quieter pace, Jo and Rob would be delighted to help explore the options.

🇪🇬 Our Egypt adventure is getting closer!

Our APT badges have arrived, and now the excitement is really building. We can’t wait to explore the incredible sights of Cairo before heading south to join our Nile cruise and discover even more of Egypt’s ancient landmarks.

I’m getting my camera ready, and a new lens is on order. I’m hoping to capture some of the wildlife along the river too — perhaps kingfishers, herons, egrets and other birds around Aswan.

Our ship will be our home from home, taking us to a new adventure each day. After exploring, we can return on board in the afternoon and evening to put our feet up, relax and watch the Nile drift by. That balance of discovering somewhere new and then unwinding on board is something we’re really looking forward to.

We can’t wait to share our photos, memories and little moments from the journey with you — and hopefully inspire a little wanderlust of your own.

🚢 Settle in on board, then watch Norway’s fjords appear around you.
